Yeah they would need to be releasing definitive versions of the Fellowship for me to want to upgrade everything at this point too. Most of the Asmus costuming is pretty close so it would need to be a serious step up in materials (real leather, suede, fully die cast buckles and weapons etc.) and an absolutely spot on HS for me to start forking over £400/£500 a figure.
If they’re gonna cost more than double HT figures then count me out for all but a perfect Aragorn. Asmus will never get the Viggo likeness right so it would be the best option.

Aug toys have entered the game at the higher end of pricing but their Dune line already seems to be of a higher standard than the likes of Sideshow and Star Ace who are utterly deluded in their pricing strategy. Blitzway also charge too much for what they produce imo so HT almost seem like a bargain for the quality- which doesn’t bode well for our wallets with regards to any company that may deem their product superior to HT.

QS will have to really raise the bar in order to expect super premium prices though and, even if they can justify them, the more you charge, the fewer people will be able to afford.
There’s competition for their WB licenses as well so they either need to be competitive or make something so much better than the average 1:6 figure that it appeals to statue collectors and those who’ll spend a grand+ on custom head sculpts and clothing.

Not sure who would want to spend a ton on Neo or any character from M4trix though or how premium you can even expect to get with a Nazgul.
We’ve seen ACI’s version with all diecast armour which was nice but too flimsy. A sturdier body and better fabric still wouldn’t convince me to pay huge money for a faceless guy in black robes.

^ Yeah same here…I could be tempted to spend big on a ‘perfect‘ Aragorn figure too with an amazing sculpt, tailoring etc, but wouldn’t be anywhere near as invested in a line that costs that as much, as I am with Asmus‘ line- who do a great job for the price point IMO.

That’s why I’ve scaled back big time on Hot Toys, the UK prices are now around £250 - £270 now just for a “basic” figure so god knows what any premium QS ones would cost over here! :panic:

I expect pricing to be ridiculously high. I don't expect to be purchasing much from them, if that's the case. This hobby has passed the pricing threshold for me, so my collecting days are definitely numbered. It's not that I can't afford it, it's that the price gets to a point that I would rather put the money into something completely different or just not spend it at all.

An excellent Aragorn head sculpt is really all I'm looking for.

Aragorn is definitely at the top of my list as far as LOTR goes. ACI I think did the best job so far with the outfit but it fell short in likeness.

Yeah give me a Aragorn please. :monkey2 I really hope they eventually do him.

If the pricing is high, I might still be interested in ranger Aragorn and Legolas at Crown prices. I don't see how they can expect to charge people 300 USD for the Nazgul tho, especially with the Asumus one on PO.

Of course, it will depend on the asking price, which is the main unknown point. And I am sure Asmus Nazgul 2.0 will be sufficiently good. However, I will jump over if the quality/price ratio is right for me and the head sculpts, which let's be honest is make-or-break. And will do it for the ones I really like - GtG, Aragorn, Bilbo, Frodo, Legolas and Gimli. I might go for an Arwen due to my gf.

i have 2 nazgul... the morgul lord and one aci nazgul... both purchased forca very cheap price... i have still not preordered the asmus one because i don't think i deserve an update... i will sure not buying this, even if it will reveals a stellar figure. For the fellowship i can make an effort... for other characters i will remain faithful to asmus.

I have their 1:4 TDK Joker preordered. The sculpted hair was $600? Ish. And their Rooted version was $1500.

So it that gives any indication on pricing for 1:6. It all depends on how realistic they plan to go with this. Real rooted hair...silicone etc.

They need to be careful not to shoot themselves in the foot with pricing before they even get product out the door. If they plan to be a true competitor to HT they'll want to win over consumers with competitive pricing.

Oooh exciting! Maybe they’ll do some characters from The Hobbit too, since Asmus is just sitting on that doing nothing.

Lots of talk about these being at a high price point so I don't know how deep I would dive into these, but I can confidently say I would buy a high quality Aragorn, Gandalf and Theoden at any price point, so I would certainly compliment my Asmus figures with those characters, if they come out nicely.

I am buying all of the Queen Studios Lord of the Rings figures if they are decent quality. I am gladly going to pay 400+ USD if the quality is on the Hot Toys level or better.

I love Asmus figures and I will keep collecting them as well but I think there is a space for premium figures in 1/6 space.

I know I'm in for Legolas for sure. Now I'm glad I didn't double dip with the Helms Deep version.

If Gandalf is GtG I'm all in for that as well. No interest in GtW.

Definitely would love to have a quality Aragorn and others of the Fellowship. But guess we will have to see where they go with the line.

TDK Joker will likely be a must as well. I have their 1:4 on order and if the 1:6 is a scaled down articulated version of that it'll be a no brainer.

The rest I have no interest in. Really hope they go deep into classic characters from the 70s, 80s and 90s. My wallet would be crying.
