I know everyone loves Grogu but his problem is it'll be another 50-100 years before he can even speak it seems, let alone actually train with a lightsaber. Almost the entirety of Star Wars media takes place over about 60 years total.

I mean we really know nothing about the species, at a certain point their development could accelerate.

It almost felt like Luke was trying to get him to speak there at one point. Mentioning how Yoda talked, asking if he remembers others talking like that?

Good point. And with Luke helping him try to remember his past, it could be that Grogu is traumatized by the killing that he saw.

But I hope they don't have him talking. It will be the total annihilation of the character that we know and love...

I gotta say he definitely seems way too young and immature to be given a freakin lightsaber. No matter how much training Luke gives him beforehand.

I can just imagine Mando walking back to his ship one day to find that Grogu's accidentally diced the thing to pieces.

As many have mentioned, it's inevitable that HT will not pass up the chance to offer up another Luke here.
Here's hoping it features:

• New head sculpt with likeness as seen in BOBF episode and featuring separate eye movement
• Black Jedi Master Training gear featuring black wrap-around tunic, pants, leg wraps and soft shoes in style influenced by his clothing from Tatooine
• Grogu featuring soft-goods robe and articulated body
• Lightsaber hilt with removable green blade
• 6 paddy frog creatures
• Hinged box containing Master Yoda's lightsaber hilt (also removable green blade)
• Mandalorian "gift" (beskar chainmail wrapped in patterned cloth)
• Training remote with stand
• Environment stand depicting grassy terrain and bamboo stalks
• 3 pair of swap out hands (3 Blacked gloved)
• hard cardboard backdrop depicting interior of new Jedi School

I'm sure some folks could come up with other features as well...but we will see this figure offered for PO in some configuration, probably by summer.

This supposed jedi training release smells like a Toy Fair exclusive

The current release is close enough. There is a tunic overcoat that is the first layer underneath the belt, perhaps a lighter color than the rest of the black. It is gray on the ROTJ version. It certainly looks like underneath that layer is what Luke is wearing in this episode. This version accomplished way more than the training version.

If (or I guess it’s more of a when) Hot Toys puts out a BoBF Luke, it’ll probably be a straight “training” version. So definitely no cloak, and likely no robes or belt, just the under-tunic. Throw in a new Grogu, backpack, Beskar armor, Yoda’s lightsaber, a new base, and a new sculpt based on the improved CGI.
You want the “ultimate” version of post-ROTJ Luke? Gotta get the Mando version for the body and the BoBF version for the head. Right up Hot Toys’ alley.

Yes! Reissue without the $100 in accessories. Otherwise it's going to have to be the Sideshow version.

I'm wondering, did they just use the same R2 prop from the ST movies? It seemed to have that same ultra-heavy weathering, which is odd since this is supposed to be only 5 or 6 years after ROTJ.

Unless Luke just does a REALLY terrible job at maintaining R2 any time he's under his care. Lol
