The best Ash on the market folks! You want a great Ash, buy Sideshow's

Hail to the king, baby!

View attachment 556258

Yup, ED2 SS Ash still reigns supreme. This was the bar, Asmus.
--

I remember when SSC's Ash was released.

Some liked it "as is" and some were critical of it.

Now it's apparently being elevated/held in higher regards compared to the one by @$MU$.

SSC had its share of production design and quality issues over the years varying in magnitude with much contempt and scorn from collectors.

Interesting reversal of perspective for a SSC offering.

Go figure.

The SS is still very much a caricature. It's a great figure, just not a realistic rendition of Bruce.

Asmus sculpt is a solid likeness to Bruce. Would love to see what it would look like with a pro repaint. I'm sure someone will. So yeah, based on sculpt, I still think Asmus is the better.

--

I am NOT criticizing/ridiculing you in anyway.

I simply want to know/understand your "perspective" on still rationalizing paying the price (i.e., $350.00 USD) for a figure that is supposed to be defect free, but is not and you knowing the various faults of the figure will spend effort, money, and time to further customize it.

When you consider what some Halloween fans pay to custom make their Myers figures, $200 or 350 for a decent base isn't really that much. A lot of this is about perspective. I'd say customizers are generally happier collectors, because if they don't like something, they will fix it. Meanwhile other people will keep repeating "I paid X and expect Y" ad absurdum and will never be happy with anything.

Agreed. The Sideshow might be superior compared to the final product we're seeing from Asmus right now, but with a repaint I think the Asmus would rise back to the top.

No question though that the tailoring on the Sideshow figure is massively better and blows the Asmus completely out of the water.
Which is actually surprising as most of their tailoring has been great with their LotR line. But again it all boils back to how rushed this set is.

The body has no scratches like shown in proto asmus are yet to address that.

Not to mention they went all out for gandalf this should of been done like that with the box. Not some tacky brown shipper.

I'm pretty much as disgruntled with this figure as most in this thread are. However, some folks in the thread here have been repeating themselves like a broken record and even resorting to specifically attacking positions within a company is nothing short of childish and toxic. I've also seen many attacks on the people who are confident in keeping the figure, which is kind of mindblowing to me.

Some folks in this thread seriously need to get a grip.

Hats off to the folks in here who critique with an actual point and stay classy while doing so!

As for me, I've canceled now and I doubt I'll go back to Asmus any time soon. I really hope those of you who keep get at least some form of remedy with the issues and I hope you still end up liking the figure, even if I won't anymore.

Good thing is that I can use my Sideshow rewards from the cancellation for another figure, I guess. Might be going for a second Scout Trooper with Speeder or a few Boba Fetts - who knows really.

You sure are hung up on that box business 😆
Gandalf was a "Crown" release. Ash here is not. There's a difference between their "Luxury" sets and their "Crown".

So… I’m not clear on the sideshow orders. They said since the SS Luxury sets were already shipped that they couldn’t guarantee they all had “Hairy Henrietta’s” so we would all be getting an extra one. But I’m assuming we’ll be waiting for that extra since they had already been shipped without them? Or will Sideshow be holding them back until they get the extra heads? I haven’t seen anything from SS on this yet

Why are people acting now like sideshows is so good ? That figure is okay but it was never great, I don't have the Asmus figure yet but I have a feeling I'll like it more than my sideshow one, very similar to this it's a good starting point to make a decent customised ash. This is getting old people, the figure has problems so what add it to the thousands of other figures that have problems, at least Asmus is trying to address them. Some of you are just straight up **** heads now, give you're criticisms cancel you're order and piss off, you're broken ******* records

The issues with this figure are pretty clear. No need to repeat it over and over again, I agree. Many other figures from other companies has issues as well, definitely, that is a fact. But for each issues, there's a degree.. a level. How low can that be? Also, I think what pissed off the customers and many members here is how asmus behaved upon those glaring issues.

The fact that they displayed the prototype pics and stated that it's the actual mass production really made an outrage, how they lied to the customers like that. And when they do apology, they are still being -quoting the words from member here- condescending and self righteous.
They have admitted their mistakes, and I'm sure we all appreciated it, but unfortunately, what they do after (lying etc) is what people think is wrong..
and that's why you'll find posts like this here:

So basically, people bought a figure that needs paint touch ups, clothing touch ups, hairing touch ups, and now a total body replacement……

So people literally paid for absolutely nothing that was advertised.

It boggles the mind that a company thinks this is ok.

and yeah, also seems like we may have some PR people on this thread.

Asmus, your posts sound condescending and self righteous. Your CUSTOMERS are upset with what they are seeing and the responses you are giving….and you seem very much annoyed by that. With that kind of attitude, you’re not going to win more customers…..just sayin.

And also seems to be some gaslighting going on here, posts blaming collectors???? For what? getting a product they expected in a much lower quality than they PAID for?

So according to Asmus and some forum “members” the customers should just shut up and hand over thier money???

NICE!

Imagine being a customer paying nearly $400 for a product and calling out the company for the shoddy work, who have already tried to deceive folks with prototype models as "finished" products and generally lying that they've checked multiple packages that all looked good and they're happy with the finished results...only now to issue a press statement stating the opposite now.

But no, as the dissatisfied customer we're "bullying" the company. 😆 Get the **** outta here with that **** and go be a boot licker elsewhere.

So then,

We did start to find more hair-less Henrietta, so if anyone among the 20 collectors, please contact us for a replacemet.
Are you going to send stickers too for that typo?
Anyways, being serious here. I personally don't hate you asmus. If you stop being shady, and deliver a good product, at least as advertised as in the prototype (a small downgrade from the proto is normal and acceptable, of course, we all know that), we as collectors will be happy. Basically any company make great products is always a good thing, including you. Nobody wants you to be destroyed or burned. But you need to step up your game. Never advertise something you can't deliver. And do better PR+quality customer service: stop lying, don't ignore messages and complaints, and don't send bad replacement parts, etc..

A good company will not send a private message just to a member here (@DeltaForceChung) to convince him to change his mind or perspective about you, while being silent and ignore the legit questions by other concerned members on this thread.
So @Asmus, since you're actually here, and read every posts we've made.. why don't you try to change our perspective about you here, in public, on this thread?

To give it a fair chance here, I've tried to match the lighting. Of course taking a photo from a separate lighting source won't look amazing either way, but with the adjustments done - I've seen better, I've seen worse. Make of that what you will.

Nah…we’re disappointed in the figure and we’re disappointed in Asmus and since we won’t get the satisfaction of owning the great Ash figure that they promised maybe the least we can do is salvage some satisfaction from voicing our frustration with the company, and having a little fun while we do it…now on the other hand…if some of this feedback to this company is upsetting to you, there is always the option of following your own advice…

Why should I ? I've payed for the figure and I'm excited to get it, I'm even going to do a written comparison of it to the sideshow figure, I should be allowed to continue posting in this thread, I see little frustration being voiced, most of you are just repeating the same crap over and over and over

This thread brought out the best and worst from members in vary degrees to the point where frustrations and tempers are evident.

I believe some come off as being hypocritical with a "so what" attitude.

I have my reasons for disliking @$MU$ and their reactions/responses for this debacle is for all to see.

For those who are open to forgive, you're a better collector than I. I hold grudges when I am clearly wronged and very seldom I forgive.

@$MU$ wronged collectors how many times over the years and yet there are those who are still open/willing to look past that?

I used to hold a strong dislike for threezero, but their GI JOE & POWER RANGERS offerings turned it around and made me optimistic about the brand provided they keep it up. I still don't care for their other licensed offerings (i.e., GoT, TWD, etc.) due to previous disappointments. If they drop the ball with GI JOE & POWER RANGERS, then it's over.

The last thing we want is unsaid hard feelings among collectors where it's turning into a @$MU$ is fine/great versus @$MU$ sucks, but this thread proves that is the case with a volatile middle ground.

Maybe the more level headed or principle driven members within this thread are the ones @$MU$ needs to engage for a genuine dialogue? I'm certain there are those who'll willingly volunteer for such.

Then again, I believe there are some who are likely blind, bribed, and misguided loyalists looking the other way than acknowledge the core facts and truths (lack of) what happened and trying to look like they're taking the higher road.

That's just bull crap.

You're absolutely right we need more comments like this, and I apologise for my outburst

Of course we're repeating it because they're not ******* listening and if anything collectors want to be heard. Obviously some of my posts are meant to be jokes. Others I feel are pretty serious. Yes, I'm one of the people who feel this is worth canceling. Yet, I'm still holding out to see if they make this right. I'm not talking about slapping some hair on or sending us stickers. I'm talking about honestly addressing other concerns like lying about production vs proto, Henriettas paint, the missing slash marks, the horrible seamless arms, mismatches skin tone hands, and the possibility some of the figures pants dont fit properly. These are legitimate complaints that need legitimate answers and you'll continue to hear about them until they're solved. It's simply a part of life.
