Glad to see the movie is doing well. Sure, Taskmaster was a letdown, and there were some missed opportunities, but it’s not the end of the world. Maybe Marvel will do something else with the character in the future. I saw an interesting article about Super Adaptoid, something along the lines of stealing the TM protocol and evolving it into SA. That could actually be pretty cool. I’ll probably keep the figure, but HT could end up getting burned on this one.

Well, like others have expressed I don't have any plans to pick this figure up. If and when Taskmaster inevitably drops severely below retail I may consider it.

The problem though is HT is gonna chalk it up as "villains don't sell" and we won't see Yellowjacket again in 1/6th form when Ant-Man 3 drops. Ugh...

Would much rather have seen Yelena and Red G figures from this...while I'm not on the "hate-Tasky" bandwagon, between design and story it's not a strong villain, and the white suit Natasha I don't think is that great either. It looks ok in the film, but just kind of bland in 1/6 scale.

I'd love a Red Guardian figure...that's something unique we haven't seen before. And Yelena has a future in the MCU, we know that...we'll see her again later this year for sure. Give them time to get her a proper Widow design.

I'd definitely be interested in a 1/6 Melina figure, but we all know there's zero chance of that...

Did killmonger sell well? I’m trying to think of another, really well done villain, that’s been released. Nebula did I think, as well as yondu. Hela I think dragged a bit, but is still of interest to people to this day. I’m not sure about the Loki’s.
I’m really disappointed we didn’t get a Ronan, I was hoping with captain marvel, but meh.

I remember that the mandarin was sitting around forever, and while it looks amazing surely, why they made that and electro, but not some of the more interesting villains, I’ll never know.

Reading back on some comments here and honestly people are way too damn spoiled. Remember the time where a comic book movie looked like the first captain America straight to DVD movie? Because I do. And that was about as good as it got.

Now it’s all mainsteam, cool even biggest budgets best talent in Hollywood working on them, an expansive massive universe that connects almost flawlessly. Solid stories scrips, effects, music you name it.

fanbois gonna whine and ***** because that’s what fanbois do.

Are these all the best quality films out there? No. Am I a die hard marvel guy? Far from it, it’s why I have about 7 marvel characters in my collection but I won’t stand for anyone saying this is not quality stuff because that just doesn’t even make sense.

Rating the series all cs and Es or whatever? Give me a break. The first captain America straight to DVD is an e. Falcon and the winter soldier is a B or a B- if you will all around let’s not dispute that. You can’t dispute that even if you didn’t enjoy it.

I for one enjoyed them all but Loki. Loki is boring, it’s nonsense, it’s whatever. To me at least, some people may really enjoy it. But even without me liking it as far as a series goes it’s no lower than a B- and that’s just facts there is so much, SO much garbage on tv…

I believe Killmonger sold well since the Michael B. Jordan sculpt was perfection...although I have no metrics to base this off of other than the positive chatter on this forum regarding that figure.

I dunno if Nebula and Yondu are fair game when it comes to being "villains" though. I also don't recall Hela sitting around too long, but it def sold out fairly quickly...although who knows if that particular figure got a very small production run.

The fact that the masses seem to really despise Taskmaster the same way they hated IM3 Mandarin...I'm gonna go ahead and say the Taskmaster figure will have the same exact fate of sitting around for years and being slashed severely below retail.

Exactly. Anybody who wants this is better off just waiting and getting it at discounted prices like Trevor.

Killmonger and Hela were just much better written characters and didn't any defending from anyone to justify why they would be buying them. Killmonger being much less prominent than Taskmaster in the comics and still selling out proves that people will buy characters they like rather than forgettable ones.

I think you're off-base, as those who are familiar with Taskmaster's comic origins and were disappointed with her in BW are not an accurate representation of "the masses". I thought it was a cool character regardless of who was under the mask, and BW's freeing her of the mind control allows for more development of the Antonia/Taskmaster character going forward in the MCU. While I agree this probably won't sell out quickly like a Hela or Yondu, there's no way it will end up like IM3 Mandarin.

Seems like you and I are at odds then Mr. Buff!

Based on the consensus on here and MCU Reddit boards (which is where the real die-hard Marvel nerds congregate), the vast majority did not like Taskmaster's portray. Another good indicator is to see how well the figure sells. If something is popular and the audience responds to it positively then the merchandise sales will reflect that.

This will be a "only time will tell" game. If Taskmaster is still avail in 2022-2023 and gets marked down and bundled with free shipping, etc. then we'll know it was a dud. I don't need to wait that long though, I'm gonna go ahead and boldly predict it will flop. :duff

straight pass for me. Moved like a male in the movie, looked ridiculous in the suit, when she removed the helmet. Was pretty dissapointed. They didn't need to include this character as a villain in the movie. I think the movie was not focused enough on Nat and her origin story. Unfortunatly i think this will be not the last time we have seen Ms. Taskmaster in the MCU

Um we don’t have to get into it but FWS is not B- at worst. That is definitely disputable. It fails on almost every narrative level

IMO people who say they "didn't like Taskmaster's portrayal" are really saying they "didn't like who was under the mask", as the character's portrayal up to that point was nothing if not formidable. Regardless, I think it's a cool looking figure. I had a $25 code that was going to expire last week so I combined that with some reward points and got her for under $200. Even if she turns out to be a shelf warmer it'll likely be quite a while (i.e., well past the time she's in my collection) before significant discounts & free shipping are offered. I just think that given the lack of MCU villains coming out of HT a lot of people will eventually pick her up for that reason alone.

Thats because he was a guy in the entire film up to the point she took off the helmet

@Nailz yes exactly what i've thought. Just want to make clear, i do like the Taskmaster from the comics and i'm not against any gender swap by Marvel here and there, but this time it was poorly done and a waste of this character in the movie. Seeing the trailers i thought we get also way more fighting scenes and explanation of his/her abilities and tech. But with Yelena, Melina and Red Guardian the movie was crowded already. Black Widow should have a Disney + series...
