HT really screwed up with that Phase 1 helmet. It's huge! And we all know they won't change it now for when they do a Phase 1 shiney for consistency so they've ruined that one before they've even made it.

That commander… Looks great. One shiny and the commander, would complete the AOTC clone line for me.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Cody, Rex and then an AOTC Commander and Shiney then call it a day with the clones. There are far too many other characters I need to keep space for...as much as I'd like them all.

For $250 a figure, it should be the correct size now. If it isn’t correct, they shouldn’t include it. It definitely looks off in the review. We’ll see when Justin gets his review up. Hopefully it looks better.

They seem to be a lot closer. I scaled things so the breastplates were the same height. The Phase 1 looks smaller than the 2 even from the movies and HT just went and made them both the same size. It's odd how the Phase 2 doesn't look oversized though.

The camera is straight on for your reference while the figure shot is from an angle higher than the head, that can create the impression/distortion of a "longer" head.

Gotta figure Hot Toys probably thought no one would use the Phase I helmet on the 501st guys and didn't do the proper research on it. Hopefully it's fixed for their next run of Clone Troopers.

Are the Sideshow helmets compatible? Is there a comparison ?

The camera is straight on for your reference while the figure shot is from an angle higher than the head, that can create the impression/distortion of a "longer" head.

I know these things are never an exact science, but look at the width of the helmet in relation to the shoulder straps. Perspective or not, it's still too big even if this mock up might exaggerate it.

Since I won't use Phase I helmet on a 501st trooper, it doesn't bother me for this specific release. But I am worried for Phase I shiny for HT might not tweak the size and use these molds.

I probably won’t display mine with the Phase I helmet anyways. I like the Phase II version better. I would almost just get the standard Trooper, but I want the extra blaster and the backpack.

I love the Phase 1 helmet. One of my favorite pieces in my collection is an Artist Proof EFX Phase 1 Clone helmet, which I have next to the MR Phase 2.

There were no physical props made for the PT, but these were made from the digital files. The Phase 1 and 2 helmets should be about the same size, not counting the top fin.

From what I’ve seen so far, what seems to be throwing off the Hot Toys Phase 1 sculpt is a weird bulging flare outward towards the bottom of the helmet. It almost feels like a cross between the AOTC and TCW versions.

It’s almost like they measurements they had from top to bottom included the neck seal instead of just the helmet so it got a bit elongated.

I do really want to check that in person, though.

As others have said, I don’t have plans to display it with the Phase 1, but I also don’t want them to make an inferior product by throwing in a helmet that’s off and continue doing that for future repaints.

Looking at the video those Sideshow clones hold up quite well, at least aesthetically, in comparison.

Bloody hell, had to order a third 501st after watching that, all three looks are essential.
