It is not for UK customers only. Also European countries are suffering the same from Asmus, and maybe other countries as well.
Any way, not a serious behaviour of a (so far) serious company.

Oh well that's news to me - the impression I got from the forum that it was predominantly UK customers.

I can't tell whether that's reassuring to me or not.......

It was not a critic to your words, sorry if it sounded that way. It is just that many in this forum are very dissapointed and Asmus is not giving a proper response. It seems that they are not considering all countries equally.

I've cancelled my Gandalf and gone with a retailer that has it In Stock.
I am usually nothing but happy with Asmus as a company but this huge delay with Gandalf's invoice + the mess-up with the Galadriel pre-orders + the relative silence + the hugely inflated shipping quotes all for UK customers only has really affected my confidence in whether this order will be fulfilled.
Despite the issues with Galadriel at least there is some movement on those orders being fulfilled ( plus the exclusive makes me reluctant to re-order through a secondary seller).
I would like to feel confident in ordering directly from them again in the future, so hopefully these issues will be resolved.

I?m in Canada and it?s the same. I can pay extra to have it shipped immediately or wait until it?s running again.

Think people need to calm down. Lots of countries are affected by this. Post is not going to certain countries because of Covid at the moment.
The postal service is out of Asmus?s control. So the options are courier companies for those countries.

Gandalf being $160 to DHL is due to the size and weight of the box.
Galadriel I?m assuming is a smaller lighter box than Gandalf and might explain why they can offer to send her now.

Not agree. Many Asian retailers are shorting out this situation without this kind of troubles, sometimes increasing the shipping price indeed but not in the crazy way Asmus does. What I see is the intention of making money out of this shipping situation, being the case that they have our money but we do not l know anything about the merchandise (I am still waiting for my 1 day pre-ordered Faramir figure)

I got this e-mail. And suppose most of you too.
Dear Asmus Toys supporters,

We found out that many emails are casually disappeared in our email system recently, and therefore we failed to reply to you in time. We are asking for help urgently and trying to fix the problem asap, and sincerely apologize for making you frustrated while you are trying to contact us. Although it might takes some time, please also be assured that now we are making up the mistake and replying every email in the order in which they were received. Thank you for your patience.

I suppose they are having troubles in several areas currently, their website, mail system and some quality/production issues (pipes, staffs etc.). I think they showed us a lot of listening and respect and it would be nice not to panic and give them some time to deal with this. We all have troubles in our jobs and customers who create new problems is not something we all want to have. Let's wait and see. Also, HK and Singapore have different shipping options than mainland China (which never completely stopped shipping goods).

They are definitely improving overall quality and likeness issues. Not all of them, but it is not Star Ace or even HT situation. And we have two of Asmus representatives here on forum.

Yes, my usual 1/6 seller got shipping sorted out right away. Upgrading to courier is around 20 bucks, not that 100 USD they want me to pay!

Well that?s reasonable at least if there?s some restructuring happening. Hopefully communication resumes because we all miss Asmus? availability and prompt customer service.

I and my colleagues are trying our best to reply one by one to you all asap. Tons of thanks for your understanding.

Hi, I am Rovi from Asmus Toys, the marketing staff and one of our FB admin. We made this second account in collectorfreaks forum to share news and collect all opinions from you. I am still learning how to make this community well. Nice meeting you guys.

Just have to point out that asmus probably can care less if you cancel their order and buy from another supplier. Remember that supplier bought from Asmus too (still get their money) and they probably prefer that so they don't have to deal with this huge mess of shipping.

Hi Rovi. This question is for everyone as well. Out of curiosity what is the longest you had to wait for in stock items to ship? I paid for two items on 4/24 with PayPal and haven’t received a shipment notification yet. I read someone had this happen to their Gothmog where it was delivered with no shipment email. Thanks for anyone answering.

Sorry for let you await for few days. The situation we faced is that there was a mail system glitch (which causes we missed some mails and some receivers reply they didn't receive our mails or there found it in their spam box) and few figure's purchasing links shows wrong for customers. These two main issues made lots of orders can not be fulfilled and all customers are asking and waiting for their confirmations. Recently, my service colleagues have been doing our best to check every request one by one in order. So, please know your order will be fine but we will reply you asap when they check it. Thanks for your understanding.

I actually received this past week two very polite reply emails from Asmus on questions I had asked months ago so they do seem to be trying to catch up.

Thank you Rovi! I will remain patient, Asmus has never failed me yet so I can understand the technical issues that have happened. I just didn’t realize they were so extensive and ongoing since it’s been a couple weeks since I first heard about the backlog. I sent an email end of April and then again the other day since I found the order number on paypal receipt. My first email was asking for the order number and I wanted to see if a new email saying the first email/customer service inquiry could be closed and I thought it would be easier to reply to a newer email after the technical issues were fixed.

Hi Rovi / Asmus,

Could you please consider giving the LOTR exclusives (e.g. Legolas) to a European retailer too (to me the best would be a continental one, e.g. lacitedesnuages in Belgium, sorry for my English friends, but from a UK shop we would still have to deal with customs :)), but buying e.g. the exclusive Aragorn would mean to me:

290 USD for the figure
70 USD shipping (DHL)
20 USD for DHL doing the customs
113 USD for our world record VAT in Hungary + customs
ending up paying 493 USD, 1.7x of the original figure price (and considering that the regular Aragorn is 195 USD without shipping (or 276 USD shipped in Europe)...)

Of course, for a European retailer we would also have to pay some VAT + their profit, but we could save the customs handling + fees + paperwork + a big part of shipping (usually 20 EUR is enough).

Even if it would be available, I'd rather not use regular post to save some money - got some very badly damaged items through post during covid... Fingers crossed for Gandalf, I ordered it from a retailer. The diorama for Legolas looks very cool, so I'd buy it, but I cannot justify paying 1.7x of the price :(

Please consider this for European fans :) Thank you!

Hi DDani, Many thanks for your sharing and suggestion as above. As you know we do not have a suitable wholesales distributer in EU area right now. Do you all know any distributer who are interested in selling our figures? We would appreciate if you could introduce someone to contact.

I'd try La cite des nuages from Belgium, they're retailers, I'm not sure if they're wholesalers - but they're also listed at e.g. Threezero as official distributors.
Since I'm just a customer, I only know the [email protected] email to them. They seem to me pretty big and are in contact with lots of manufacturers directly according to their site.

There is also heo Gmbh from Germany, as far as I know, they're wholesalers only, but because of this I don't really know them, but some of my figures have their stickers :)

There are also the Italian ToysHeroes and La Bottega del Nerd. But again, they are retailers and I don't know if they are also wholesalers.
Maybe it is worth contacting them and asking them directly:
