DiFabs attitude surprises me. Some might observe it?s absurd for grown men to spend thousands of dollars on kids stuff. It?s seems an equally ignorant and narrow minded and condescending attitude.

Maybe the resonance people feel from Star Wars goes deeper than nostalgia.

Get over what? I'm not in control of what people decide to buy with their money. It just seems weird to me that dudes my age and older have an interest in all this, especially at the prices these things are at now. At this rate with all the new stuff coming down the pipeline, collectors will never have a "complete" collection. There's always something else, some old thing made new.

It's weird what trends these days and what doesn't. The baby yoda thing being no exception. I totally get how a kid or a teenager or 20 something that grew up with the 2008 Clone Wars would be into this new stuff, but these old timers (a bulk of which can actually afford this stuff and make up the majority of the 1/6 collecting community), I just don't get it. It's very odd to me.

Again, to each their own. I'm guilty of getting sucked into hype and buying it "because hey, it looks cool", but I've outgrown it. I want to know why other guys haven't!

Again, what does age have to do with it? We can enjoy things, and at the end of the day it's all Star Wars. Should we just always stick to what we know and never give new things a chance? I really don't understand your thinking here.

Age is just totally irrelevant imo. They're troopers & troopers sell.

Your signature is literally from a Batman Cartoon, which aired on a kids TV channel.

People like Star Wars for more than nostalgia, they like the characters, the world and the stories told, old and new.

If you're going to buy this stuff, atleast do it with something that actually resonates with you long term and not whatever is fashionable at the moment. We've seen it before, over and over again. Then when these things finally do come out after being on preorder for years, how many will still have the same interest before trying to throw them up on the marketplace to get rid of them because it's not new anymore?

And again, I'm not criticizing some of the fresher faces that are into this, not at all. I'm questioning the seasoned Star Wars collectors that have been on this rodeo for decades now. At what point is someone generally fulfilled and happy when it comes to the collection? I assume never. There's always going to be some new character that's just a clone of what came before (pun intended).

I don't see why it matters to you why and how other people spend their money though. If they want to buy something because they have an emotional connection to it, that's fine. If they wan't to buy something just because they think it's cool, that's also fine.

Although it's not exactly the same thing, I see the same arguement made for tattoos all of the time. If you want tattoos, they don't all need to be "meaningful", you can just get one because you think it looks nice.

Plus in regards to this figure, Echo has been around for like 13 years now, so does that still not count as resonating with people long term?

Even if people don't like the show or the characters, they are still cool looking troopers. People love to army build generic stormtroopers, I highly doubt anyone has an emotional attachment to that one stormtrooper that bumps his head in A New Hope.

The show just started, give it a chance. Its not like you missed it and its too late to get into. The plot is vaguely interesting: The immediate events following Order 66. Any Star Wars fan would want to know what happens. Although the show is kinda slow. Hopefully it starts to pick up.

Yes, its a little soon to be dropping money on something, without knowing how it turns out. It could be TFA again. Ironically, Echo is probably the most least interesting character in the whole cast, including Omega. Everyone has a quirky character trait and then Echo is just....there. Not much personality.

Echo could have PTSD or something, that would make sense. He was a regular clone, he got severely injured and then put back together like Robo-Cop. He might be a very engaging character but so far hasn't made much of an impression.

Have you seen Manga/Anime? Or Harry Potter? Those properties are also baffling to me, but if all of these people didn't buy the other SW toys that I didn't want, then we wouldn't be getting eventually something that I or you want. Just like the economy, plenty of taxable goods that you nor I would ever get, yet it helps out in the bigger picture for all.

Wow, I didn?t realise that I needed your approval for pre-ordering figures. I promise I?ll do it next time. I?m 43, so if you could give me your approval criteria it will reduce the number of rejections you need to hand out.

It's a slow start sure but it has 16 episodes so they can afford to take their time.

And yeah but Echo is just a regular clone, and they do show that he has some PTSD after he gets knocked out and the droid is tending to him the medbay. Echo's thing is he was always a stickler for the rules and regulations, so he's not really used to hanging around with guys like the Bad Batch. I'm sure they'll develop him a bit further over the next 14 episodes.

I’m in my forties also and was always under the impression I could like new things as time went on. I didn’t realise there was a cut-off at some point in my youth where I was to stop enjoying stuff and I was only allowed to buy memorabilia from said youth and nothing newer.
Perhaps we could get a sanctioned list? Like when the cut-off date was? And we will save a lot of money, lol.
