Nonetheless they wanted a visual representation to show that America was built on blood and they got it with that bloody shield.

Every country is built on “blood” to some degree, America is not alone in that distinction. “How?”, ”When?” and “Why?”and for “What reason?” was that blood was shed are better questions.
And in that regard I’d say America comes out looking better than most in history.

Yeah his little twitches were great. Didn't Cap have multiple vials injected though? The logistics of the actual injection confused me.

Russell along with the whole cast are stellar.

Nagel said he perfected the serum; so suppose that means 1-dose vs. Erskine's 40s version (and gawd knows what Bucky was shot up with or how often).

The Hydra super soldiers only had one IV in CW - guess things moved along to single dose.

Walker and Lemar had a great longstanding dynamic in the comics especially once Walker started going over the edge and Lemar could do nothing to stop it. So I'm bummed that they took Lemar out so quickly. I thought they could have just stuck to the comics and had him snap after the Watchdogs (or Flagsmashers in this case) murdered his parents. But I guess they wanted the Flagsmashers to be more "misguided/misunderstood" than outright evil.

Marvel villains in hoodies and hockey masks is just so lackluster.

Otherwise I'm still pretty invested in seeing how this turns out and am quite enjoying Russell's reimagined take.

I liked that him executing the guy was reminiscent of when Steve had no choice but to decapitate the vampire Baron Blood, one of the few times he had to kill someone in the Gruenwald era.
