With all the artists who have produced heads at this point, I’d be curious to know if there was anyone who still wasn’t happy with any of them and waiting for something else to come along.

Back when they were new, madbug was like the only game in town, but at this point there’s been a good half dozen solid works done, all quite different from each other, and I would expect one of this would be able to satisfy anyone looking for a ‘78. For me, ToTS is number one, with Harper a close second, one of the ones Dean showed off with his stairs diorama looked very similar to ToTS and my personal vision of Myers.

I don’t know if it would get approved, but I would like to see ToTS take their ‘78 sculpt and apply the 2018 wear and tear to that form to create like a “true” concept portrait. The 2018 mask is unquestionably based on the ‘78 mask, but between the shape of Courtney’s head and the short time Nelson had to turn around the mask, it’s not like literally looking at ‘78 Myers 40 years later and it would be fun to have a head in an accessory pack which uses the ‘78 head as the base form.

Speaking of accessory packs, since ToTS is using electronics with these, it would be cool if they did the cop head with light up feature from 2018. I like having the one with NECA but lack of light feature keeps from from being an amazing accessory.

I think the Madbug sculpt is still considers the best, but the sheer number of paint jobs Don to that sculpt can make it look less than perfect.

Honestly , I have been hunting an MM figure for 5 years, back and forth on the sculpt, price, clothes and pants. This TOT fills my collection out perfectly. I am still preordered for the SSC, and will probably part out what ever I do not use for those figures.

But unless you want a perfect Myers which will still run over 600 easy, then TOT is the way to go for now.

I keep looking at him and marveling that I have a Myers, that looks great on the shelf.

FINALLY HOME!!! Now I need nice themed stands for both, new metal knives and maybe a little body alterations. I almost bought metal knives a few months ago, but it was like $80+ per knife and expensive shipping. Also, there was a long wait from this one customizer. So, I think I'l wait to find something more in my price range. The plastics will do just fine for now. But if anyone knows where to find 2 metal knives at a reasonable price, I'm all ears. First, I must find stands! I hope all of you who bought one of these guys are enjoying him! He's definitely a great looking figure. So happy we're finally starting to get these.

Pro tip the hammer hand will fit better for the knife.

No word from BBTS yet. I'm actually thinking of doing a body swap between my '78 and 2018 to make them have the proper differences. Even though as far as story goes, they're both the same Michael, Castle and Courtney aren't the same size and 2018 looks bigger in the movie, you feel it.

I'm also going to do some padding to thicken him.

Going by Dean's latest video, the button showing on the outside or not seems to be dependent on different factors, I see button showing on the outside in the above and the pants are baggy down at the feet, but I get his point about the pants, you see them different in the bathroom scene.

In preparation for the 2018 I've taken the Hot Toys Jedi Luke fat suit off the 1978. He looks a lot better without it anyway, as it was making him look a bit heavy on the Soldier Story body.

It should work well on the 2018.

Packing the boots on the '78 with white tack also improved the overalls no end. I'd like to have both figures match in height, regardless of the actor heights, since they represent the same person. Taller is preferable as it's more imposing. At the moment the '78 is as tall as Sideshow's newest Jason - a little taller if you count the hair.

There's also a Madbug V1 recast that Dean owns, I remember being shocked when he made a true light video, it looked really bad compared to when he shot it in his home with the lighting.

Huh? Nope, I think the Madbug sculpts (1 & 2) are the best sculpts ever made for Michael 1978. I also love Ones headsculpts (though very artistic and closer to some posters than anything else) and Ryan Harper headsculpts.

This is the quote I meant. Agreed, many nice sculpts out there. I'll disagree that TOTS should hire different sculptors. IMO they knocked it out of the park.

I've been playing with the '78 ToTS, making some adjustments.

After previously removing the head from the mask, the mask was just resting on the neck post. But I think it was sitting too low. I don't find judging the correct placement very easy, as I have to keep reminding myself I'm looking at a mask and not an actual head.

So I went back to using a neck peg and sculpt cup, packing them around and on top with white tack and masking it with black electrical tape (which I've recently found to be a wonder material for all things 1/6).

The boots are packed with white tack, and the ankle pegs just sit into them with the legs level with the boot tops.

The body is from Soldier Story, but no longer with the HT Luke Jedi fat suit. The only other change was putting a fist onto his left arm as it seemed more appropriate than the relaxed hand, and he seemed to create a fist when he was standing behind the hedge.

This was taken in a fully lit room with the camera flash on:

He won't stand without support owing to the ankle situation, so the crotch grabber messes with the flow of the overalls. A waist grabber would create a different set problems.

The Madbug 1 Dean owns is a recast (you can see it on an older video), hence my quote ; ) But this recast looked very good under his lighting, and terrible in true light (because of the paintjob mostly). There are quite a few differences between the original Madbug and the recast, and like someone said above me, few artists painted (and haired) the head like it's supposed to (whether it's the original or the recast). The true Madbug V1 painted correctly is still the most impressive & accurate HS to me after all these years.

To answer your question Maulfan, a lot of things have come out, but most of them are very hard to find, if not impossible, and the prices are very high. And you have to contact each artist separately, it's very complicated, some of them don't answer. I've been trying to assemble the perfect thing for years but it's a nightmare frankly. You can even buy something you think is original and end up with a recast instead. Ideally I would have Silver Surfer paint an original spare Madbug headsculpt and I would like a spare Yunsil outfit to dye it in blue. But Surfer has a reputation of being extremely slow so I'm not gonna try this. And Yunsil only works with volumes and is not going to make the 1978 run again in the near future. The whole experience of assembling the perfect Myers figure is extremely tiring and complicated. It looks like an easy figure but it's extremely complicated if you really want everything to be perfect with the small details and the right artists.
So that's why I'd love TOTS to do it and offer the right options for a cheaper price. It could be doable.

I don?t know if it would get approved, but I would like to see ToTS take their ?78 sculpt and apply the 2018 wear and tear to that form to create like a ?true? concept portrait. The 2018 mask is unquestionably based on the ?78 mask, but between the shape of Courtney?s head and the short time Nelson had to turn around the mask, it?s not like literally looking at ?78 Myers 40 years later and it would be fun to have a head in an accessory pack which uses the ?78 head as the base form.

I recently picked up a spare TOTS 78 sculpt for a cheap 3rd party 2018 Myers I had laying around, turned it into a Halloween kills looks based on the couple still images we've seen so far. I'm no great artist so the paint is not the greatest and the hair needs to be properly styled but the sculpt definitely looks good as a H18/ Halloween kills mask.

Also put together another small base for my repainted/haired H78.

How are the eyes on everyone's 2018? I feel like mine are too high inside.. when you look at him straight on, I'll see mostly skin and just the bottoms of the eyes. Wondering if this was how the sculpt is or if I got a bad one. Trying to find some videos, but thought I'd ask the community first.

In other news, TOTS' Art the Clown is going up soon.

OMG! Art the Clown! I never thought I would see a licenced figure of this guy. Trick or Treat has my attention. I'll be buying a lot of there stuff if they keep doing stuff like this at those prices. Ride that Chu-chu!

After they debuted this figure alongside all the Michael Myers I watched the 2016 Terrifier, and the earlier All Hallows' Eve.

Art is such a creepy, disgusting, sadistic character with no redeeming qualities, that I'm still not sure if I want a figure of him on display. :lol

In my little horror collection there are Michael and Jason, who are pretty much just simple killers; two versions of Hannibal, who was erudite and abided by a code when it came to killing; a Christopher Lee Dracula who could be reasoned with.

The closest kind of character to Art I have would be Freddy, but even then he doesn't come close to the hacksaw wielding clown. :horror

I rewatched the original grindhouse inspired 2011 short, Terriifer, last night (which was edited into All Hallows' Eve) to remind myself just how effectively disturbing Art the Clown is!

Thank you for the clarification. Only Dean vid I have seen him do with a Madbug was the one he had painted/haired by Silent Surfer which he had to wait for another year after he paid in full. Didn't realise he had a recast.

accessories pack us up for pre order. 16 bucks for shipping. I?ll wait to see if collectors row or nightmare toys puts it up

I just got my 2018 Myers yesterday. I am blown away to be honest. I really wasn't expecting him to look as good as he does. I wonder if the SS version will be as good. I'll share some shots I took yesterday.
