Awesome pics!

Nice shots Xipotec and perfect behind-the-scenes examples of what I was saying Popcorn. If we took Nick Castle in broad daylight and scrutinized him standing still in a static pose, its just an entirely different perspective. All of these figures are quite impressive with mood lighting. And I have to add a great bargain for a licensed product at this quality. TOTS made a smart move bringing them home at this price point.

Lets be real here. There's a reason they shot the mask like they did in the movie as these behind the scenes pictures show.

It's really crazy to think about how cool the mask looks in the movie when you see photos like that and realize how crucial lighting and angles are to making the mask everything we've come to love.

Personally , I think it?s more an example of Bad lighting in the shots where you see the eyes well.

Normal lighting gives this figure and the mask the soulless eyes look. It?s only when the lighting is directly in the face that it seems off.

Much the way some people hold a figure under direct light and use an iPhone held super close to show how a figure looks......

Another look at the 2018 Myers by Dean Knight:

Simply stuffing the boots with white tack got the figure almost to the height of his custom 2018, and sorted the length and fall of the coverall legs.

This also works well with the '78 since the coveralls are very long. As to making the '78 too tall for the actor, there's going to be a disconnect anyway with the 2018 being played by an actor who was 5" taller.

Mine is in the area! UPS keeps taking alt routes and pushing my time!! Was supposed to be here between 8 and noon. Then noon to 2. Now 2 to 6!! Keeps playing with me!

No word from BBTS yet. I'm actually thinking of doing a body swap between my '78 and 2018 to make them have the proper differences. Even though as far as story goes, they're both the same Michael, Castle and Courtney aren't the same size and 2018 looks bigger in the movie, you feel it.

I'm also going to do some padding to thicken him.

Going by Dean's latest video, the button showing on the outside or not seems to be dependent on different factors, I see button showing on the outside in the above and the pants are baggy down at the feet, but I get his point about the pants, you see them different in the bathroom scene.

Exactly. Like in the behind the scenes pic with the knitting needle, the first pics of the '78 figure were big old close-ups of the head with what looked like a spotlight on it. Where mine is displayed, it's just a regular ceiling light. Eyes are well hidden.

Color me impressed by how faithful to Tinela's work the coveralls are on this 2018 TOTS figure. There is a button on the left side (or right depending of how you think of it) of the coveralls in the 2018 film, as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEBQWhgGM1g Pause at 4:25
I don't remember if he'd lose one at some point, but I see no reason why. I think Dean made a small mistake on that one.
So the TOTS coveralls are more accurate than Tinela's original apparently.

Ryan Harper's sculpt is definitely much, much better than TOTS, but this TOTS figure could come in handy to build an acceptable custom.

As for the light on the original 1978 mask, I get the point, but it seems to me there's a flash on the second picture you used. At least there's direct light on the mask. And in any of those pictures, the mask itself doesn't look like the TOTS HS at all.
With the TOTS HS, even without direct light on the figure, it just doesn't look good in natural light, whether the light comes from the sides, above...

What I appreciate with some custom HS, is that whatever the light, they look like what you see on screen. If you use a proper cinematic lighting setup, they look even better.

Doesn't Dean own the Beto Matali 2018 custom as well or am I mistaken? This custom is insane, the best I've seen to date. I don't know who made the coveralls for this custom but I don't think they were Tinela's, they looked incredible.

It figures that BBTS gets the 4 and 5 instantly when I’m not getting them, but 2018 is going to be slow because I have it ordered.

Nice photos, xipotec! I also have that hobo zombie figure. That was a nice series that Sideshow put together.

Michael 2018 looks really good, I just wasn't a fan of the movie. I didn't think it was all that scary, but did like seeing Jamie Lee Curtis again.

Hold on. Didn't you just say a couple pages back you were shocked how bad the Mad bug sculpt looked in natural light?

Yeah those The Dead figure are a passion of mine.

Still trying to get the Punk one, hard to find.

Yes indeed. Lighting will be a factor with how visible the eyes are. It's a guy in a mask. Of course if a light is straight on the face the eyes will show through. In normal room lighting, at least on mine, the eyes disappear nicely. Mood lighting enhances the sculpt even further. IMO this is the best '78 sculpt currently in 1/6(I also think the Mad bug is insanely cool).

PS. I think the behind the scenes pic. with the needle is Tommy Lee Wallace.

It really is. It's unrealistic to expect a figure to always have the eyes hidden with light shining strait on it when it couldn't be accomplished in real life. To replicate that you would need to remove the eye piece, cover them, or paint them black.

Huh? Nope, I think the Madbug sculpts (1 & 2) are the best sculpts ever made for Michael 1978. I also love Ones headsculpts (though very artistic and closer to some posters than anything else) and Ryan Harper headsculpts.
