I think I can finally call the Emperor done!

His hands are a tad oversized IMO, and particularly his left hand with the pinky extended seemed huge to me. I got a spare one that I repositioned, making it appear smaller overall. I also repainted all hands, getting the veins bluer and giving them a white wash to lighten them up.
I previously repainted the face, extended the ankles, and shortened the cane, though that was a while ago.
Will try to do a proper photo session soon. :)

Good God, man. So killer.

Thanks a lot, guys. :hi5:
I'll get some comparison shots in there when I do the photo shoot, Wor. I always try to use a combination of the actors' heights and on-screen references, so I think Vader, Luke, and Palps should be pretty accurate now.

Good...good...

Wow that just looks amazing, placing this image in a Star Wars book with film (promotion) shots would be total believable!

Much appreciated, everybody!

The Emperor is one of my favorite SW characters (in his ROTJ look), so I'm glad I was able to do him justice.
I did a proper photoshoot today with natural light, I hope you enjoy.
(My Vader currently doesn't have any hands unfortunately, so I couldn't do the hands on belt pose. :lol That will have to wait for another time.)

They look great together
Did you do any mods in your Luke?

Palps looks awesome there agonistes86 but I have to agree on the hands - it's a decent hand sculpt but they are something like 20% too big. I had to swap mine out for smaller hands. If you look at pics he actually has sort of small slender hands ( I tried to roughly match the size of the respective faces in these pics.)

Nice little RotJ line up in that last image.

Thanks! I love the ROTJ throne room scene, so it was fitting to have it properly represented in my collection. :)

Thanks. Yeah I quite heavily modified his body and shirt. You can find all the mods I did and more shots here in the Luke thread: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182019&p=10364483&viewfull=1#post10364483

Yeah agree, particularly that sausage finger on the cane holding hand stands out. I bought a couple of smaller hands that were in the right poses and tried to sculpt on top, but it didn't turn out very well, so I resorted back to repainting the HT hands (and reposing the left hand). In the end, the correct texture and the veins on the HT hands overruled the size issue for me. I'd love to upgrade them though.
Here's the reference I compiled for the hands.

Fantastic pics! :clap Love this one! :rock

It looks fantastic standing. I'm not sure I would be willing to not display him with his throne but perhaps standing in front of it... hmmm...

You could try having him standing in front of the throne, representing the scene in the throne room where he stood up and started walking towards Luke. “Ohhhh no, my young Jedi.”

I have mine posed like that and he looks creepy as hell to me. Plus, the grin on the sculpt to me matches the moment when he got to Luke after sauntering towards him. “About a great many things.”

Excellent idea and I agree, creepy scene!

Yeah, it's the reason I ended up parting with my HT throne - the figure to me is best displayed standing. I tried standing and sitting poses for a few weeks but could never find a sitting pose I loved.

It does look cool if you can get the figure to sit just-right (a very difficult thing - I've only seen a few people on here make it look good) but I feel he's a little absorbed by the mass of the throne without a perfect pose and lighting. And for me the throne was too deep so took up too much display room to be simply used a backdrop behind the standing fig.

It didn't help that the HT throne is more black than the lighter gunmetal it's supposed to be, so without adequate/proper lighting it does become a bit of a dark blob. The SSC throne, while nowhere near as accurate (other than the base, which is superior to the HT version) sculptwise, had an accurate gunmetal color.

Just got this guy again after selling him a couple years ago. I have the deluxe but will be keeping the throne in the box. I prefer him standing as well.
