I have the first run of that figure, and definitely like the more matte paint better on the figure but just don't feel like spending another $25 on it.

I’ve gone back and forth on this one. I love the ‘84 Godzilla and right now NECA is the only articulated one out there, and I have the original but already made the decision to part with it. When I saw this at SDCC last year, I was excited about the improvements, but the more I see the new one in hand, I just see a bad figure that’s just slightly less bad than the prior version. Spines have better detail and are bigger, but not as big as they should be, body is off, tail is off, legs are horrible, and I’d rather wait for a $100 SHMA version than buying several NECA figures to make a kitbash. As an ‘84 fan I’m drawn to get it, but when I think about what it would cost, I can’t bring myself to feel ok with the price.

Yeah that's a good way to put it!

Hey there was a comparison review on the 1984 releases but I can't find it. I think it was on toy news international or ToyArk but I can't find it on searches.

I?m glad to see people like the 1984 suit as much as I do. I feel like that?s one of best suits and looks like a modern 54 version

Even though '54 is my top favorite movie, '84 is my most favorite suit. I'm waiting on my Sakai '84 from X-Plus right now, eagerly. As much as I like the '84 though, when it comes to collectibles, they really have to evoke my passion, which is where NECA falters, I look at theirs and see elements of the suit, but it's not 100% suit or cybot, there are elements that look like no Godzilla suit ever. I am hoping SHMA will take on the '84 given their relationship with Sakai. You could easily take the sculpt X-Plus is using from him and articulate it.

Anyone know where this statue is from?

Well, I haven't let Covid-19 stop my Godzilla purchasing. Here are a few X-Plus figures that I have gotten recently.

From latest Pixel Dan interview with Randy from Neca

-Godzilla license might be on hiatus because of a new company doing stuff for the new movie (doesn't sound good for Neca continuing license)

-have 2 new Godzilla figures sculpted not shown yet

Is Randy talking about the new Toho shared Godzillaverse movies or the new Playmates/Jakks toys from Wal mart?

My guesses on the two unseen would be the 2000 and the 2004 Final Wars. I have my doubts Neca would do any of the 1970' super goofy ones.

After a long hiatus I am back and wanted to see what everybody thought of this guy?

Definitely some very wide hops. Matches the gigantic it seems to me though.

Matches for sure, but it’s one of the features I didn’t like on the gigantic, which is a shame because paint and detail look amazing.

I'm undecided, for the same reason others have stated, the hips/thighs. I just got the Hyper Solid statue which has better proportions, but I still might be swayed to get this one.
