Yeah, I think that costume in the book is from Return of the Jedi (there are 3 "new" Jawas in Jabba's throne room that didn't re-use the ANH costumes.)

That's how the Jawa faces are in ROTJ (black cloth face screen, fully exposed "large" eye-lights,) and the ROTJ robes don't have the really obvious "off-white paint" weathering that the ANH ones do.

Yes. In the book it says ANH, but I?m pretty sure it isn?t. Looks much more ROTJ

Just watched the review. There?s really nothing that justifies the price for me since I believe that I overall like the SSC Jawas better and I have a (I think) much better looking Gonk already.
I also find it weird that it does look a bit more like the Mandalorian jawa - especially the eyes - and still the color of the robe would be wrong for that - and it?s called an ANH Jawa...
So I cancelled my order and put the money towards Wicket instead - which is also too expensive btw.

Properly futzed, I think this will look great on display, even if the SSC has a couple of things better executed.

I?d be more inclined to buy a Jawa/R5 set. This is a ?nice-to-have? but I don?t need it.

Great idea, this can be a Jawa with the jabba.

The alternate type rifle this comes with works for the Jabba sequence too - two of the three "Jabba Jawas" carry this rifle (not the more known ANH style one they shoot R2 with.)

I assume this Jawa doesn't come with the "shoot R2" type rifle because (maybe wishful thinking...) that one will come with the Jawa/R5-D4 release? You'd think if this Jawa release was it for HT Jawas, they would have included both rifles for the price.

I really just want the gonk. The Jawa is an expensive bonus.

Other than the base and price I like this release. But $267? Nope. Not sure what they?re thinking. Glad I scored it a bit cheaper

What a cheap looking release. I?ve been buying like 80-90% of all the Star Wars HT releases the last couple years and this is a complete and easy pass for the price, and I doubt they will ever make it to any kind of discount. I refuse to get caught up in the ?these will be going for big money later? hype for these secondary (tertiary?) characters anymore. I keep thinking about the now stupid expensive Death Star gunner and I still don?t care that I missed out on it, lol.

Also love that the punctuation issue using Tapatalk still isn?t fixed after all this time, good lord.

You can change your iphone settings to no longer auto-smart apostrophes under General > Keyboards > Smart Punctuation. I use tapatalk pretty regularly and was getting pretty damn annoyed by it. Tapatalk has also started changing the boards to a generic non-animated laughing emoji for some reason.

I'm in agreement with most of you in that I don't see the value in this release.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I prefer the SS version, even with the floppy body issues.

I really want the Gonk droid but don't want the Jawa, so don't want to pay that much for the pair.

Boot leggings look to be the most detailed part, the part you don't see.

Too bad they didn't figure out a way for the eyes to look lit when the red light is off. This Jawa will just look wrong without eyes of some kind inside that dark hood.

The more I look at the pictures the less excited I get... the only thing I really prefer here is the shape of the hood, which can be hard to accomplish with the SSC ones. The robes look to be more prop accurate than the SSC ones, but on screen the robes looked darker. More like the SSC color. And they float and drape much better. ...And a lighter Jawa might not look very good next to the others...
And the Gonk and bandoliers just look so flat... I?m seriously considering canceling this order. First time. [emoji848] ...hope both are better in hand.

Yeah after watching that review I definitely prefer the overall shape of the HT figure, which is closer to the smaller and cuter Jaws in the movie than the taller and lankier ones that Sideshow seemed to be capturing. And even after inserting wires into them, the hoods on my Sideshow figures are still a pain to futz and make look accurate.

Its funny that even the box has yellow eyes...





In that video, I kept noting that you really need to be perfectly aligned to have both eyes looking lit up. Alot of the time, one only eye light could be seen. Perhaps if you are perfectly aligned, then the eyes look yellow?

True but unsure what I would charge for just the Jawa. I wouldn't want to over-pay for the Gonk, either. I'll wait until it is available and see what the going price is.
