Yeah I was thinking that too. Swap out parts for more options and also generic clones rather than Rex specific would be nice but I'd doubt those.

The “clones” in back of Rex looks like Shiny’s so we’re probably getting clean versions of these Ahsoka Troopers. I can’t recall a time Hot Toys used a figure for promo and not come out with them looking like that. When they do come out, at least.

Maybe Ragnarok Loki but I can’t think of any others right now.

I haven't watched The Clone Wars yet but I want to. That said though I don?t intend to collect the figures.

I only watched this year (bingeing) 'coz of Mandalorian. Clone Wars and Rebels. Hope u enjoy - think the writing, characters, designs, etc. pretty impressive. Plus you get back SW stories fleshed out.

There may be 1-3 figs maybe I'd pick up, much as a I like these shows; but don't wanna expand too much beyond the films. Can't afford it/space. Also - depending - I'd rather see HT put their back into amazing sculpts vs. selling (maybe) more simplified figs and charging 200$+.

Happy for people that are happy tho!

I couldn't care less if Rex's sculpt is realistic vs animated because he would never be displayed by me without his helmet. But for Ahsoka that makes or breaks it for me. I would need it to look 1:1 with the show.

I didn't think the Clones behind Rex were actual figures, they're completely clean, I figured that was a CGI rendering. I zoomed in and can't really tell.

Well it's been a pretty good May 4th ! Can't remember one this good in a looong time !

* Hot Toys figures - not bad
* Mandalorian Gallery Episode 1 was great.
* Clone Wars finale was excellent.
* TROS on Disney+

Announcement for further Star Wars content with Taika etc. (I'm not so happy about this announcement personally, personally don't think any of them are a good fit to Star Wars. Even Taika tbh).

Did Delta Squad ever make an appearance in the show? The commandos are some of my most wanted figures.

Yes, Delta squad did make a brief appearance in Clone Wars. Also, another Republic Commando, Gregor, was featured in Clone Wars and Rebels.

Yes, but Rex would look completely different with his helmet ON depending on realistic or animated, so I don't follow? The entire character looks different between the styles, not just his face.

The significance of the teaser, if that is the actual Rex figure teased ( it must be as otherwise that is an occurrence without precedent), is that Hot Toys have taken the realistic option, therefore any other character in the range would also be realistic.

It would be an unprecedented approach by hot toys to make a figure line where one character is done in a realistic style, then the next one an animated style. Unlikely. Logically and commercially, they would choose one style or another for the whole line else it would be inconsistent and jarring to put them next to each other, alienating collectors.

Imagine an animated anakin next to a realistic Obi Wan......it would look bizarre.

So, if the clones are done like movie versions, the other characters will ultimately be made to look like real people rather than cartoon characters for the figure line to look consistent.

The fact that the announcement actually calls out "The Clone Wars" specifically almost makes it sound like a new license which could be another indicator that they'll be animated. Otherwise the Rex preview should have been just another SW reveal, nothing more. HT has never said "Prequel figures coming!" or "The Mandalorian figures coming!" have they? They just announce figures regardless of the movie or series? So hopefully by giving this line its own name that means animated style.

Though I suppose I'm also curious as to what HT's interpretation of those designs will look like if they go realistic. I'm allowing that the Rex preview might just be a placeholder and that he might still be animated.

Okay........well, all speculation is valid of course.

So, my comments are purely based on the assumption that the entirely new and undoubtedly "realistic" movie-styled prototype Captain Rex figure that Hot Toys appear to have already made, photographed and shown (below the neck) in their released teaser today is the one that they intend to release.

Miracles do happen, and they may well swallow all the development cost, entirely scrap that prototype and change direction after it has already been produced, but all (admittedly limited) evidence to date is to the contrary to the animated style speculation.

It could happen, maybe they stuck a skirt and a new pauldron on their Cody figure......its possible.

And with that, I'll bow out I think.

Just because they opted for realistic armor doesn?t mean they?re going to make their own interpretation of what Ahsoka would look like in live action. That would be unprecedented. I suppose it would make the most sense for them to just not do her entirely.

Yes smart money would be on on realistic style based on the preview alone. I'm just grasping for the smallest inkling of hope otherwise I guess, lol (mostly because I really just want Ahsoka to look like she does in S7 and I think a realistic interpretation could easily be messed up.)

I share your hope, why would you want Clone Wars figures that don't actually look like Clone Wars characters?

Animated was the logical style choice I would have thought......just not convinced they are taking that direction.

I don't think I'd want a Clone Wars Ahsoka. I prefer her older adult look from Rebels.

Less pervy. :lol

That's not unprecedented, Sideshow did it. Doing different styles in a line.....has that ever been done before?

Yeah, I don't want any Ahsoka.....but I'd love the animated Ventress.

To be fair, Ahsoka in later Clone Wars lost the earlier incredibly ill-advised outfit.

I'd also love a Cad Bane, but suspect a realistic version would look pretty much like an animated version, he certainly looked similar when Hasbro did him in the two different styles.

You're not wrong, I guess my only argument is just that it?s different. I don?t see them doing that for Ahsoka, if they make her at all from TCW.

Don't forget that other toy lines have done "realistic" Ahsoka before, so it isn't unusual.

Hasbro's 3 3/4 inch "vintage collection" did a realistic version of her in Clone Wars, and their 6 inch Black Series did a realistic version of her from Rebels. So, no reasons as to why Hot Toys can't also do that for her to better fit in with the existing star wars line. Those lines did multiple realistic interpretations of animated characters, as did sideshow at 12 inch.

Anyway, fingers crossed everyone gets at least something that they are hoping for! Good luck folks :)

I'm rooting for Cut and Suu Lawquane........a bit obscure?
Yup, but I can dream !

I don't think animated is the logical style choice at all. Hot Toys isn't known for cartoony characters outside of the two Spider Man characters. You have other lines to scratch that itch. The entirety of their star wars line is realistic; cartoony would stick out. Realistic seems the obvious choice her.
