Does the surface get hot? You don't want the figure turning yellow.

I would be afraid using anything too strong might rub some of the finish off. Personally, I'd hide it by adding a tad of a dark wash, then seal it.

Honestly, how noticeable is it under normal lighting? Id probably just leave it. I mean, he’s supposed to be weathered and used. It’s not too much of a stretch to believe he’d have some splotches here or there.

I?d leave it too. You risk making it worse. It?s just custom weathering ;-)
