I wasn't there when it happened but the rumor was that Trevorrow had a private conversation with Daisy Ridley about the direction he was going to take Rey. Immediately afterwards Daisy was seen literally sobbing and Trevorrow was soon fired.

Therefore I assume that the movie would have been much better had Trevorrow stayed on board, instead of KK replacing his ideas with Johnson and a dimwitted story group.

On what exactly are you basing that assumption? Jurassic World?? Of the many things wrong with TLJ, IMO what they did with Rey's character was pretty far down the list...

Saw that! It is great and pretty much sums up my feeling for the sequel trilogy. After watching the trailer the story is pretty simple. The emperor comes back Rey and Kylo team up to fight him, Kylo dies and Rey wins with the help of Jedi spirits. Rey always wins! Yeah Rey! I know other stuff will happen another character may die for dramatic effect but I’m pretty sure what I think will happen will happen. I just can’t wait for the continuation 30 years from now when Rey is a lonely cat lady who is disillusioned with the force and another great Jedi will have to find her to save the universe again.
