The 1/4 HT Vader looks great in the promo pics, but I'm afraid of the low quality pleather/faux leather (and rubber too) HT usually uses for their figures. I don't want HT Vader to start breaking down in a few years, it will be more visible on a 1/4 figure than on a 1/6. Now if they used genuine leather, I'd be all over it in a second

As for IS Vader, it might also have some minor accuracy issues (already discussed in the thread, so I will not discuss further), and the cape might be a bit larger, but in the end is a superb statue. The cape can be very well positioned, if you have a bit of spare time to handle it, and in the end no IS Vader will look like another, due to the different ways you can display the cape and the included hands and accessories.

First Hot Toys Vader was out for nearly 5 years. So far i haven’t seen any pleather faking issues...yet.

My only gripe with this piece was 1/4 scale.

I’d like a 1/3 or 1/2 scale even. Then I would never get rid of it. Lol.

I've seen tons of pleather (and rubber) issues with various Hot Toys figures, new and old. Make the suit full leather and I'm in, no second thoughts about it.

I'm talking specifically about Hot Toys Vaders. I didnt mention other figures from them, of course there were many cases of pleather flaking or rubber deterioration. But so far there havent had any reports of Vader Hot Toys...yet, and hopfefully there wont be, and that was my point.

Knowing Hot Toys history so far, I wouldn't trust them with adding better quality pleather on this figure. This is why I'll be getting the 1/4 HT Stormtrooper, since it doesn't have pleather, but not sure about ordering 1/4 HT Vader yet. This is why IS Vader statue might be still better than the HT figure - not saying it is, since we didn't get it in hand yet - but we'll see when the figures arrive to customers, and then we'll discuss accuracy and overall quality and comparison with IS and PF Vaders for sure.

Agree on the HT 1/4 Vader it does look great but yeah, I don't trust how the fake leather will hold up. I'm also not a big fan of the tall stand that comes with him.

The IS Vader is the best 1/4 Vader currently IMO.

I think the stand can be modded to be lower. But agree with you on both pleather quality and the IS as being the best Vader statue so far.

IS RULZZZZZ! Actually it does. I have it next to my others and it is just better.

I do have a Hot Toys Vader from maybe it was Rogue One? Whatever it is he is still good. Hope he stays good.

I will have to break out the MacGuires leather lotions LMAO. I think it says works on pleather LOL

Put me down for IS is numero uno camp! Love mine and honestly dont see myself replacing it with anything further. Unless IS themselves does a "I am your father" version with Bespin Base or something.

Cant wait to have this guy displayed next to Prime 1s Jungle Hunter. Going to make for a mighty awesome display.[emoji95][emoji95][emoji95][emoji95][emoji95] Screenshot_20190825-192546_Instagram.jpg

What an amazing photo!!

Just think, this statue was $650 when it came out! Seems like a steal nowadays.

In an effort to get a scratch free helmet I had a couple replacements sent. Finally I got one that was perfect. To my eye anyway. Anyway that left me with 2 extra helmets

So I decided I want a red eye varient. Still need to apply another coat and then a gloss coat but I think it came out pretty cool. I'm not going for the most accurate thing, I just love a red eyed Vader. (ANH)

I'm excited to pop it on lol

I don't mind the greenish hue they are now honestly, but with spare parts why not! Lighting throwing the actual color off a little. A tad more subtle in hand.

I love this statue.

Purty cool Zilla. How'd you get replacement heads?

Thanks. I got them from Sideshow the first two had some little scuffs on them that bugged me. Third one came great.

Yes. It was. That's why I have them. It was big enough for me. If it was for you I don't know or care but I posted about it 2 years ago if you really care that much to go back and search. Pretty subjective question.

Personally I will not go through hundreds of pages to look for some photos that might or might not be there anymore, considering the forum changes lately. If you want to repost them, fine. If not, again fine. It was a simple question, you shouldn't feel offended by it...

The fact that I have the parts should give you your answer, unless your simple question is insinuating that I would have had them replaced for no reason. Which of course Sideshow doesn't do.

Whatever dude! I was asking because a good friend might have been interested to buy one of the extra helmets. But that doesn't matter anymore.

Lol Why not say that then? I've dealt with people in this very forum questioning if I should have returned something. It's just very subjective, what I think is "bad" you might not mind at all. So really didn't want to get into that discussion again. Sorry.

They were small marks. Not a huge deal but not what I wanted out of my 600 dollar statue. Some people might not have cared. I did.

What's wrong with your friends?

Here's an example of one I replaced. It was wrapped in a very rough paper which resulted in little swirly hairline scratches all over one side of it. Now again it's not horrible but I want a high gloss finish that I'm not going to see these in a certain light. Not sure if you can really tell from my pic.
