Yep, sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't...

i was going to phrase it like that but since we were talking about boobies, i thought i would phrase it different...:lol

OK...first of all...

That did NOT feel like 84 minutes!! It felt like nearly two hours. None of it felt rushed. Having the origins before the credits and then the next events interspliced with Jordana Brewster and Co. helped get everything out there without prolonged, padded exposition.

The only element that felt out of place was R. Lee Ermey's little speech about Korea (those of you who've seen it know what I'm talking about). That part felt forced.

Also, the plot was a cookie cutter of the earlier remake. However, this is the movie that the '03 version should've been (and I liked that one too).

That being said, this was one of the hardest movies I ever sat through. I thought it was great, but this is the dirtiest, goriest, grimiest, most brutal, most unrelenting movie that I've ever seen (and I've seen some strange sh** in my time). Right from the start, this movie doesn't let up and give you a chance to process things. Any of those scenes...they're gone within the first 20 minutes. After that...all bets are off!!

is it more gory than The Hills Have Eyes?
I CANT WAIT to see the new TCM. Just havent been able to make it yet.

.. as far as the Hills Have Eyes goes. THat part where the "guy" is .... um "feeding" on the baby's mother caught me off guard more than any other scene Ive seen in awhile. I was thinkin "I cant believe they went there." cool :monkey1

As a fan of Leatherface and the franchise, I can't say the film was "good."
In fact, none of the TCM films are particularly "good," technically speaking. They feature weak plots, unimaginative stories, and underdeveloped characters.

However, the first one was original, very well made, and got it's point across.
It was meant to be gritty, documentary-like and shocking. The second one was goofy and entertaining. The third was decent, mostly because of Ken Foree, and Viggo Mortensen, the fourth was a stupid retread, saved only by McCoughnahey's fun performance, and the 2003 reboot, was dark, glossy looking, and thrilling.
Like I said, none of them are particularly "good" movies, however, they are mostly fun to watch, and the first and 2003 version especially, instill a good sense of psychological terror in the audience.

That being said, the BEGINNING was a solid entry in the series. It is also, by far the most brutal. The tone and lighting of the film reminded me more of the original than the 2003 version did. The dinner scene and the heroine escaping especially brought back memories.

R. Lee Ermey definitely steals the show, playing a role he does best, and is funny to watch. Many of the violent killings are hard to watch, and are not for the squeamish, and the ending was especially ballsy, but I suppose it was expected.

Overall, a brutal, but suspensful slasher flick. I would probably rank the series like this:

1. The Texas Chain Saw Masacre '74/ Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03 tied
2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2
4. Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation

Ain't it amazing how often they can resell the same idea over and over... !

To date no TCM have had nudity and very little sex, why be different now? I'm glad it doesnt really, I'm not a huge fan of sex in horror movies. cheapens them to me.

By far!!!

And it's not just the gore in TCM:TB...it's the unflinching BRUTALITY!!! Some of the most intense scenes don't actually end with a murder, if you can believe that!!

i don't know about you, but in my opinion, nudity isn't sex. :rotfl

and that's all i was wanting....just a peak of those Double D's. when diora baird pulled off her shirt, and climbed on top of her boyfriend, it would only of been fitting if she had removed her bra as well.

i'm not asking for a porno-horror flick, just a peak at that genetic goddess.:monkey5

I agree. Hell just throw Ermey's head on Subject 5's body and clothes and call it a day :lol

If they just take the PT Ermey head (fits the character of Hoyt the best right?) and just change the color of the clothes of Subject 5 and add a badge and you got yourself a Sheriff Hoyt. Sideshow really needs to do this. I haven't bought any Ermey figures but I would buy this (and a Mail Call outfit figure for a True Mini Lee). A new Leatherface is also a must. Hopefully with changeable heads (Hannibal mask, maskless, first face mask, etc.) I know I'd pay more $ for three heads. Don't forget the chainsaw and meat cleaver!

Here is a VERY quick and VERY crappy edited pic of PT Ermey and Subject 5. You can see how easy it would be for sideshow to make though. I guess this is Hoyt after the 2003 film huh? :lol

Hey, I said it was quick and crappy. You would just use the clothing from Subject 5, but I think the body (along with the head) of Ermey should be used. But it is also that simple for Sideshow to make us an official one. :monkey3
