First there was this gigantic debate about Indy DX which nothing alarming. Some people liked the figure, others didn't (I'm with the latter :) ), but then, after Captain America was released, a fiery debate started on FB how the final version is totally off with an elongated face, crappy uniform etc.

Now in Cap's thread the following post appears:

https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3910639&postcount=4022

which wouldn't be out of the ordinary it it wasn't the same picture found on

https://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-168786-1-1.html

And looking at some of the more vocal "protestors" on Facebook I noticed that most of them are Chinese (or from Hong Kong) and don't appear to have any facebook friends.

This one is even called: Hot Toys dislike :rotfl

I wonder, did a competitor get a whiff of the debate with Indy and now organized a coordinated smear campaign against Hot Toys?

Not that I did as much research as you, but I have been noticing alot of hate lately from forum members with <10 posts who just joined the site. Most interesting.

I think problem is clear. This fellow needs to get a girlfriend. :lecture

Already got one ;)

Actually, it took me just a few minutes after I saw that post in Cap's thread. After I got a friend request on FB (having voiced my own displeasure with Indy) from Hot Toys dislike I gave the Hot Toys FB pages a look and, voila, there's a bunch of Chinamen with torches and pitchforks crying for blood :)

So someone doesn't like HT. Who cares. :dunno

Well, its going to get annoying if every new release gets its thread spammed by an army of anti-Hot Toys ants working for another company (maybe) and pointing out flaws that are visible only to them.

Maybe the problem is that Hot Toys needs to get their management and production in order for some of the figures.

I usually don't buy into conspiracies but I do think you might be onto something. It's definitely suspicious.

I was talking about the guy with the OCD issues.

Ah, ok. Misunderstood :)

As for this anti HT campaign. It certainly won't change my mind (I got 4 figures on pre-order atm), but if its true, it means that the companies are moving from competition in quality to a smear campaign... sigh, turning into politicians.

And I'd rather they fight on the plane of quality than through marketing.

What makes you say its the competition? There are a lot of just bored and lame losers out there with nothing better to do. Someone is probably doing it out of spite of all the equally psycopathic Hot Toys fans out there that think HT is responsible for the start of the universe that go out and ruin the boards with endless....

I hope you're right. Wow, feel very sorry for the sort of people who'd go about creating accounts on FB and SSC just to thrash a figure. Sad really if that is indeed the case.
