Last spring my wife and I were trying to get Jimmy Buffet tickets that went on sale @ 10. At 9:50 I was redialing on the house phone, and my cell phone, she was dialing on her cell and online. By 10:05 the show was sold out and we had to go to ebay.
The industry needs to police itself without government intervention. My wife is a huge country music fan (I try not to hold it against her) and belongs to several fan clubs that offer pre-sale tickets. It sucks to have to pay $20 a year to get a ticket at face value but it beats the alternative.
