I don't know that Skiman dyed the original hood there, though I don't think the red hood is made of the kind of material that wouldn't be dye-able.

Ski made the hood himself.

Thanks! I didn't use any filters, just my iPhone4s. He's a really fun figure to shoot, thanks to the interesting silhouette.

I didn't think there could be such a thing as material that could not be dyed, Zartan's hood is just that.

I tried 2 dye sessions with a dark brown liquid dye - 30 mins each...the hood is still very red, not quite as bright red, just close to the photos on the box.

Anyone else try a dye that DID work?
