Not really convinced by the pleather jumpsuit. May change my mind when i see in hand pics though.

Sideshow definitely went with a thick shiny plastic for their prototype. On stage costumes for RO may have been some sort of lighter technical textile. Something like what's used by most professional athletes.

Right, I just couldn't think of the word lol, but yeah the X-wing pilots have the same new suits if you look close.

Personally I don't like the shiny satin jumpsuits. I prefer the ANH versions. I wonder why they changed them for R1?

Maybe it was just a Scarif thing along with all the pilots getting the extra helmet "tears".

But yeah, cloth flightsuits were perfect. I don't see why they needed the change. I do like the blue satin flughtsuits Blue Squadron had.

Interesting...side by side pics if seen they don't look right with other figs. Not Chewie tall but not on par.

EF you have Pilot and Driver pics with Storm trooper?

quick shot.

Is that the full height HT Stormie? Total height difference would be a little more because of the higher helmet dome of the pilots and the helmets sit higher. Difference is within the "acceptable" range I guess.

Odd. I was going to get an original ANH Sideshow Tie Pilot to pose with my Sideshow Luke X-Wing. I'm sort of worried he would tower over Luke now. :-/

I like the new suit though. Even if not screen accurate for ANH it makes sense in my head that Tie Pilots would have something a little more "leathery"
Not sold at all on the helmet though. Those added stripes, even if actually screen accurate for Vaders Wingman in ANH just look shyte. I hate the need to add rubbish detail like that to every armored character. This all started with the prequel clones and Hasbro/Sideshow are as guilty as any for unleashing children with fingerpaints on the costumes. They are CLONES for gods sake, they are supposed to look, think and act alike!

The Rogue One Deathtrooper specialists also fall prey to this. In order to make the helmet interesting they added green lights at the jaw?
Whats the point in a stealthy black suit if you are going to illuminate your head. Thats just asking for "Boom - Headshot!"

So pardon the ignorance, but did this tie pilot ever appear in the movie? The only sources I can find for this particular helmet paint scheme are the TIE Striker pilots from Lego and the X-wing game expansion pack.
