Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

Got my Captain America yesterday in the mail and opened him today. How do I get his shield on his back? Can't figure out from the instructions how to do it.

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

Nippon-Yasan typically gives you the option to pay later for PO's, I had that option for the SHF Hulkbuster. But for some reason, Ultron has to be paid up front which I'm not too comfortable paying for something that won't arrive til mid next year.

Its due to a change in the actual Tamashi Nations/Bandai Japanese website policy.

Realized this just a few days ago and yeah, it was from a policy change on Bandai/Tamashi Nations part. I ended up deciding to get him because this (ugh) and pay upfront than wait and risk the price going up later on.

Admittedly though, I'm rather curious to compare him to the Marvel Legends figure (which I repainted) and the upcoming Revoltech...

Those Revoltech joints are hit or miss. On the Stormtrooper, they look and work great, but on Boba Fett they looked hideous and a bit fragile. I think they blend in better on robotic-type figures so it looks like the joints blend in well on Ultron.

They can't get away with it, since these joints are their speciality. But they are always doing random characters, I can't take them seriously.

Ehhh, the frown is debatable considering how expressive Ultron can be it seems more like he looks angry here which isn't that far from his actual look in the film.

The joints may seem jarring at first and while he is stylized, it's really important to note that the details on their sculpt here is actually more accurate to the movie's CGI model than Bandai's Figuarts and Hasbro's Marvel Legends. Bandai based theirs on the early render from the Empire magazine cover while Hasbro based theirs on concept art, whereas the details on the Revoltech use the finalized model as seen in the render used for the Entertainment Weekly magazine below. Height-wise he's actually pretty decent, being that he's much taller than the Figuarts while only being a little shorter than the Hasbro ML.

I think the most interesting part is that of all the companies (Hasbro, Bandai and even Hot Toys) they're the only ones that got the thickness of his neck down spot-on, which is a big deal for me since it actually captures Ultron's overall impression a LOT better.

It's why I'm really curious to see how this one will turn out as a figure, since it's actually looks pretty promising for a Revoltech.

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

He looks to be of similar height with Snake if he's standing which makes him about the same height as other Revo Iron Mens?

I think Snake only comes up to his shoulders there especially given the scaling of the other figures in the background as well as how Snake's specs lists him at 16 cm while Ultron is 18 cm...

I'm honestly surprised to say that I'm most excited for the Revoltech Ultron since they've nailed down a lot things that most companies missed when making an Ultron figure (accurate body details, thick neck, etc.), which is the last thing I expected out of Kaiyodo's Revoltech line.

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

Well, since he's stated to be release this year. I hope we'll get studio shots soon to judge.

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

Speak of the devil! He looks pretty badass, might pick it up! :clap The Revoltech version totally outshines the SHF.

Holy crap! They even bothered to make the paint apps on the eyes as movie-accurate as possible (white center with white outer ring, something many companies tend to ignore), not to mention they can even move!

Well I'm definitely getting two of these, just to support Kaiyodo for such a job well done. :thud:

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

It's 17cm, definitely taller than SHF and similar to the MLs. Can't wait for pre-orders to be up!

His thicker neck and collar makes him more menacing imo.

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

Loving that Ultron. Whereabouts can one buy these figures if they're in Canada?

Which part of Canada? It's a lost cause. Just get it online. Stores in Toronto tend to jack up to ridiculous prices.

Re: S.H.Figuarts IronMan

So is this now the unofficial official:)) ) SH Figuarts AOU thread? Can't find the SHF AOU thread. Mods/OP let me know if you want me to move this post.

Anyways, did anyone get their Thor in the mail? Not too shabby Bandai.
