Peter Mayhew has passed away at age 74

Really sad news. I know it was probably just considered a minor supporting part at the time, but he really did imbue Chewie with so much personality and heart, and became as memorable and iconic a character as any of the others in my book.

He imbued Chewie with nobility and spirit. Now the old wookiee is truly among the stars...with some old friemds.






He will be missed and always remembered in the classic films.

Very sad. RIP, Mr. Mayhew — Chewie was/is one of my all-time favorite SW characters. It’ll never be the same. So bummed.

Isn’t it a blessing we have that new guy to be Chewy while Peter was sick

I feel Peter will be the one true Chewbacca, but the new guy can continue the tradition
