I can't seem to connect to the internet on my Nintendo Wii. Is all network capability and support for the original Wii console gone or do you think it's just too far away from my router? We used to stream Netflix all the time in its current location and I even downloaded Mario 64 a couple years back. But there were often connectivity issues and we switched to the X360 for our streaming needs. I would really like to get some older NES and SNES games and would rather download them rather than finding the GBA/DS ports.

The Nintendo Shop should be working, strange. All Wi-Fi support is gone though, namely the ability to play Nintendo Wii games online such as Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart Wii.

It may be your router though, the shop can have issues on Wii U and 3DS from what I saw. Though you could download the same games on the Wii U Nintendo Shop too.
