If they have cloth costuming then you'd have an amazing resource for costuming, parts and equipment to kitbash your own....

Was thinking that myself, I was expecting all those whove been kitbashing Ghostbuster figures in the custom section (alot recently) would be kicking themselves

Then I saw it was 'Mattel'

So now I think theyll be jumping for joy

for parts

Thats if they arent silly money

Re: 12" ghostbusters figures coming this summer

Mattel had a survey out recently asking about collector's interests and 12" high end collectible figures (Sideshow Toys was the example) were among them. Perhaps this is them testing the waters?

I hope they bring back Major Matt Mason.I d buy everything they made.

I'm eager to see this tommorow, I hope that they'll have cloth jumpsuits, but knowing mattel they won't have them. here's hoping however.

AWESOME!!!!!! This is great news and thanks for the post. Who knows maybe a license will be available to makers like Hot Toys and we'll see something very high end too!

This is great news, i've always wanted all 4 in 1/6 scale and it sounds like the 4 horsemen will make them with higher detail too.

I hope this is the case! I would love to see HT do at least the 4 Ghostbusters!

then again, if mattel is asking about a "collectors market" for 1/6 figures.. who knows? these might turn out great... and it might even open up a window for mattel to do DC comic book 1/6th figures.

:rock :lol:lol
I hope pics start surfacing soon!!
Maybe tonight??

("...12" figures with screen accurate, custom tailored clothing, etc."),

There's no way that you can think all plastic from this description. "Custom tailored clothing" has to mean the traditional 1/6th type figure.

Well after being intouch with the guy who i was commisioning to makeup a custom set of gb figures, we are both alittle unsure as to whether its worth continuing with them now with their being aset of official 12" figs released, and with a winston 2!!

we are both going to wait on the pics that will hopefully start floating around asap and see what we both think.

is it worth me getting a custom set made and still get the official figs frm mattel? shouldi not bother and get 2 sets frm mattel?? 1 to display and 1 to keep in the boxes?? im unsure now.

IF the mattel figures are not going to be very poseable then i may carry on with the custom figs commision and jst buy the official anniversary figs to display in the boxes??

The article says they'll be unveiled at toy fair, which starts tomorrow, right? So we will know soon.

Considering that the survey they put out ( which I think is where Dave's quote is from) asked about 1/6th collector market products, AND specificly referenced Sideshow as an example, I'd guess Mixed media figures. Likely, they'll have AWESOME headsculpts ( Since the 4 horsemen are involved https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Horsemen_Studios Or check their official site https://www.fourhorsemen.biz/ ) Probobly really nice accessories, and pretty good uniforms ( after all, mattel makes barbie, they know a thing or two about 1/6th clothing) but probobly so/so bodies. That's what I'm expecting/ hoping for anyways. A crappy body I can deal with.

i just scrapped my whole customs project. threw em all in the trash to make way for mattel. yay, mattel!!!!:woo

:lol:rotfl:lol

Going by previous 'mattycollector.com' releases does anyone know how hard these will be to buy outside the US, specifically the UK?

No problem, just get a credit card and you will have absolutly no trouble. Some people say MattyCollector has been done especially to reach both the Us market and the rest of the world...

Im not really worried about any headsculpts as I will get all the Howes' heads but a decent suit would be cool. Otherwise they will be displayed in box in the back.

Hopefully their 6" line will not have the MotUC or DCU style but be compareable to the Moviemasters TDK line... :rock

personally i'm hoping the 12in figures blow cuz i just spent the better part of the year customizing my own.:lol but i do want the 6in stuff. especially ghosts and stuff.

Ghostbuster Minimates were announced today, if anyone here is interested. That means that 2 sets of Ghostbusters mini-figures (Minimates and Kubricks) will also be coming out this year. Being a collector of both, this has me really psyched :rock I hope the 12 inchers come out pretty good, as well. Hopefully they will have decent proton packs and head sculpts, anyway. I'm attaching a picture of the Kubricks.

Where did you get the pic from? Will any other figures be shown on TF? :google

These look dam nice AND they look similar to their respective actors (for Kubriks).
That picture is from Jedi Defender, and was released in October, I believe (still no release date announced for those). Many (myself included) are hoping to get a 400% (or 4X size) Mr. Stay Puft. The Minimates may be shown at Toy Fair, though I have no idea if prototypes were even made yet.

well i think after discussing it with a friend, my father 2, who i gotta say collects memorabilia and models as much as me lol..have both said, why not get both..if its affordable to do so then get the official and custom figures...bcos lets faceit, they aint guna be the same, and the amount figures that are out there that we buy which always have some thing wrong with them in our own opinions. so who knows. but i think im still going for my custom set, they willl be very different to what the official figs will be, and i like the idea of that.

jst my thoughts. and if u thrown away ur gear ill have it..lol...!!
