While looking for dowels at a craft store I saw this cheapo box on sale for a few bucks. Using a 50% coupon, I managed it for about $1.50 before tax. Threw some stain I had on it, blackened the hardware, and filled/painted a button for a decoration on the front. I padded the bottom with some upholstery foam and Halloween netting. Finished with clear coat spray and it's not too shabby. In total, I spent about $10, but I also relied on some in-hand materials (to be completely fair).
