Hey guys long time lurker, 1st time poster. So how's everybody doing?

So yeah not sure if this is in the correct section or not but a couple of years ago I found out about these Jurassic Park kits and there not being many collectible out there for Jurassic Park out there and me being a huge fan with out anything to show for it I just had to get my hands on some!

So I got the T-Rex, Velociraptor and later the spitter.

I stuffed up the paint job on the Rex so decided to to restart and I'm still wiping of the paint for it atm.

But i bought a couple of lesson of the Stan Winston site and after that I ended up finishing the Raptor and Spitter.

I'm actually really happy about they way they turned out!! What do you guys think?

Re: Horizon Jurassic Park Kits

I've been tempted to do this in order to get a Rex, but a question of time/money permitting. Great job....

Re: Horizon Jurassic Park Kits

Very good, I like them a lot. How did the online lessons work out for you? Did you use an airbrush?

It was the Monster Maquette Assembly & Paint one. It was really good! I pretty much replicated each step he did and put it to the Dinosaurs except for a couple.

The Airbrushing was minimal on both these models. On the Dilophosaur its was all dry brushed except for fogging on the the underbelly and the green coat to make the wrinkles more suttle. My original plan was to airbrush most of her saying that I'd only do a bit of dry brushing and wait until I got a good airbrush but as I got started i saw that "hey its not looking half bad! I'll continue with this" and ended up finishing the whole thing!! :rotfl

The Raptor I was gonna do the same just drybrush it but on the 1st attempt the colours weren't looking correct and and i had to start again and during that process the the air brush broke! so I ended up getting a new one the Paasche H set and immediately i felt like a chump for having persisted with the other one for long! So about half of the raptor is airbrushed and the dark Browns are dry brushed and inside the mouth just wet brushing?

Any way here they are for a size comparison. The Raptor is realy big! 1/5th scale i believe and the Dilophosaur is 1/4th scale

Oh and thanks everyone!

haha Nah I just built her, wouldn't want to part with her so soon!

Oh the rex isnt done yet. Probably start on it soonish, but I got a Zoids Beserek Fury model coming soon so I want to work on that for a while because I worked on these 2 pretty much non stop!

Thanks guys! Hey Spiker what references did you use for you raptor? and Nice work on the Spitter looks exactly like the one on the box! and your display has pretty much the stuff I have! lol minus the T-rex and the Claw which I'm actually trying to find one.

I used behind the scenes stuff. Way more yellow in it then in the movie. For some reason the colours dont get shown well in the movies they look like diffrent shades of the same colour.
What coulor is that on the raptor?

Here's is some more pics of my spitter.
