Sorry guys...I know it's taking ages but I'm literally opening the LSF one minute and smashing up the MKVII lifesize bust the next :lol :lol

Okay, I'm pretty certain I'm not gonna have time to assemble this guy this evening but the least I can do is to get pics up of what's inside the second box.

So....the base....disappointing? Yes! :( the base is so lightweight, if you can compare it to the base of the MKIII LSF which weighs a ton, it leaves you a little underwhelmed. The paint apps on this aren't worth jumping up and down about either. Very lacklustre effects and will certainly need repainting. Not even sure what this base is supposed to represent in the Avengers movie? Is it part of the flooring from Stark Towers? Any guesses? :dunno

Whether you can disregard this piece because of the base would be rather harsh in my opinion but it could and should have been so much better. If anything, I prefer the base we saw from the proto pics at last years Comic Con!

Cool book Andy.

As for the base, I'm guessing it's supposed to be a part of the landing pad at Stark Tower but having just viewed the clip it doesn't appear to be so busy with shapes on film. No idea tbh :dunno

Thanks Eric :) Yea, it's a strange one isn't it :dunno

Right, next is the Headsculpt and personally a real worry for me as in some pics it looked kinda orangy :horror

Okay, scare over cos the Headsculpt is really nice! If I was really nit-picking then I'd say a touch on the glossy side across the faceplate but that's neither here not there cos for me, the gold color is there and no orange whatsoever! It's a major relief to be honest and the head is where your eyes tend to focus on the most when feasting your eyes on something this big...

The eyes have a very cool blue tinge inbuilt inside the lens. I haven't had a chance to work the light feature yet but I'm guessing this blue tinge would be to recreate a bluish effect to the eyes, as they've done with the Arc Reactor...personally, I would have preferred a more whiter lens but again, we're talking abt personal preferences...overall I'm delighted at how the Headsculpt turned out :)

Hey Andy,

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your assembled Mark VII next to your Mark III when you do the inevitable photo shoot. ;)

:lol and don't forget my MKI half scale ;)

Once this guy is fully assembled then it's another week or twos wait until my Hall of Armour background display arrives and then it'll be time to get snapping! :lol

Okay, we've come to the finale and the legs :) well first things first and I can happily say that I've received a mint condition LSF! Allelujah!! all that needs to be checked is the light feature so hopefully I'll get a chance to check that tomorrow. So the legs are just the finishing touch to what is now looking to be an amazing Iron Man statue! The paint apps throughout the armour is very consistent and the gold tones are just perfect! No noticable flaws such as runny paint, drips or overlapping...just a really great job!

So from what I've seen so far, this piece has definately won me over and I've still to assemble it altogether and switch on those lights! For those IM fans that are on still on the fence on whether this will be their first LSF, my opinion is that you WILL love it! You can't help but get excited about a collectible this big and it really does deliver. For those who are still waiting for it to arrive, I wish you all the best and that everything arrives in perfect condition for you :)

Yes, we've seen a few already who have returned theirs back to sideshow so of course everyone's opinion is different and to some, this piece doesn't live upto expectation but I can only call it as I see it and I think it's pretty much an awesome piece all round - minus maybe the base which could have been done better!

Nice pics. The head looks awesome to me. Looks clean and the colors/finish are really solid IMO. Brushed metal look would've been great, but I really like how this came out.
