took out the pers and sculpted new eyelids. Now it looks badass from the front! Amazed what a difference it makes to the entire figure. Will post some pics later.

The great thing about this mod is that I still have a fully functioning PERS system, but I really do have to warn anyone trying it, it was very very difficult. Don't blame me if your head gets ruined! I have done lots of PERS surgery before, to get everything out of the head without damaging anything was a nightmare. And I don't think you could do this properly from the outside. Of course once you do "get in" you can make the eye shape anything you want, you DON'T HAVE TO TOUCH THE PAINTWORK or bottom lids... you can keep HT's fine work here. I always liked his evil squinty look, so that's what i went for.. I'm flabergasted why HT didn't do this originally. It changes the entire figure.. These are still WIP and crappy iphone pics, I will try and take some proper photo's later. I have started to repaint the faceplate as well...

I hope not too bad looking. If someone has a picture of the DX12 on the MMS body please post it. I wanna see if it is teeny tiny. (<<thats what she said.)

Also, is the DX 12 much different fromthe dx02 in size? Saw the 02 head on the MMS and thought it looked great.

Here is Wayne head on mms. I think it looks pretty good. His head looks too big on the dx12 body IMO.

If I had the skills I would totally do this. To scared that I might really mess it up though. Maybe I'll buy another head and try it. That way if I screw up at least I have a backup. Awesome job man

Looks really stunning. 100 times better. It just adds so much more realism and makes it look like a guy in a suit, rather than just a sculpt. If I had the confidence I'd probably do this too but I know I'd jus mess it up. Really awesome job though.

Squinting with your head down is about the bottom lid going up, not the top lid going down. Try it in the mirror.


[Edit] I just tried it in the mirror again and when you squint, the bottom lid goes up regardless of head position. The only time the top lid comes down is when you're falling asleep.

You mean the DX02 face plate? Yeah, I'm still tweaking it. Will prolly do the neutral face plate as well.

Really? The head moves and so does the PERS? And Batman squints all the time, it's part of the act, sometimes you can't even see his pupils.

He doesn't have to look down anymore?

Thanks man. Honestly I can't get over how good it looks in person. It makes the figure look like a man in a costume as strange as that sounds, anyone with the means to do it, I would 100% recommend it.

I do get Mag's point though and I believe he is right, the bottom lid should come up instead of the top coming down.

But the fact that Rory achieved the squint by doing it the sleepy way is not all that apparent unless you look really closely. The overall effect to me is just of seeing squinted eyes which look a helluva lot better than the stock to me

looks great Rorywan !..I was thinking of doing this from the outside but I guess it can be done by removing the PERS plate..

what did you use for sculpting the eyelids ? if you don't mind sharing

To be fair, I've seen 3 eyelid mods done to Batman figures and I haven't liked any of them. I'm not sure what it would take to look natural to my eyes, but I have a feeling only adding lid to the bottom might be the trick. If I ever get the nerve to try it, that will be my plan.
