logged on when i got home from work with no issues. i rolled a monk and clicked my brains out. the monk has an ability (forget what it's called but you get it really early) that lets you teleport to the target and punch it. at one point i had a 84 string kill. makes the monk ridiculously fun to play. he is a foot fist murder machine. i stopped after i killed the skeleton king. everything was pretty smooth.

Nice I was thinking of making a monk as my next HC char but none of my friends played one and I never played one in beta so I wasn't sure but I'll try it now.

Jesus Christ people. It's just a game, with servers, logging online, with a million other hyper geeks. RELAX and be patient. Have you guys learned nothing about server issues with Blizz and WOW? lol
It's not worthless. The game itself is great. The online server thing just has to be fixed.

You can anticipate it's going to be big and alot of people. But I don't care how powerful your hardware is, they still crash, they still have limitations.

Chill...you don't need to finish the game in the first week.

:panic:

No it's all about MONEY. Companies make far more money selling console games. So if I were making a game I would damn well make sure it came out first wherever the money is. It's simple.

Yup. But it's also because they maybe didn't want to compete with Diablo 3's release. Release Max Payne on consoles to make money there. Let Diablo have it's fun for a bit. Then release on PC.

Besides, this works out better for us. Now I don't have to choose what game to play! lol This first, Payne in 2 weeks time.

I know right? It should work PERFECTLY when 2 milllion geeks connect to game servers all at the same time. Shouldn't it???

:dunno

I would give them the benefit of the doubt. I usually do when a new game is launched and has minor online issues. However there are two problems. First they have had 12 years to make this and delayed it constantly. It should work. The second problem is for people wanting to play single player. This should NOT be and issue. There is no excuse for this.

People have a right to be pissed.

There's no server system that has ever done well when millions of people try to access it at once. Just because it's been 12 years doesn't mean that server issues are somehow not applied to this game

That's my point exactly. Are you saying in 12 years of development they couldn't figure that out? :slap

It's probably not worth their time/effort to figure it out. After a week or so, there won't be these problems. They saw it coming, I'm sure.

I think the issue is that most likely they would have had to add extra servers just for the initial launch, and then after that they would then have to transfer everything from those servers to the main ones when the extra servers are no longer needed, it's a lot of time and money just for the first few days.

Or how about this super original idea? How about make a normal single player campaign that doesn't require online?

I know, crazy right? :rotfl

There's a lot or reasons for them why the always online thing is good

But otherwise I think for most people having an internet connection isn't a problem. And most of the Diablo players will be using the online functions anyways.
