How about a remake of Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises instead.

Maybe in the remake Lenny can suffer an accident that eliminates his LONG term memory, dun dun dunnn! So every morning he has to relearn English, how to be a human, etc., and THEN solve crimes.

He can have tattoos that say "Remember I before E, except after C," or "Watch the OT before the PT," things like that.
