No one is ever happy or excited to see a movie in the movie forum. It’s almost always utter complaints. But it’s funny anyway. Keeps the convos nice and fresh

BvS mediocre (shambles) movie.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

:lol

To be clear I'm not anti DC. I went to watch BvS with a friend who is a bigger DC / Batman fan then I am and he and I were pretty much of the same mind after the showing: What a wasted opportunity.

I really wanted it to be 'epic' and or give us a memorable Batman/SM movie; while the extended version gives viewers a slightly better version, BvS was still a mess.

Amy Adams reduced to scraps was a total waste and I have to say the only part I really liked was Batman fight scene in the warehouse and Knightmare batman look. The rest amounts to what a 6/10 if you're watching the extended version and mute Jesse Eisenberg's performance.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

Since 2015, there's been 3 Star Wars movies. Since 2015, we've had 8 MCU movies.

Quite a difference.

Creativity with Star Wars? Zero. Much more creativity and diverse genres in MCU. Not that the MCU is perfect every time out.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

Rogue One was/is great - I really like that film.
It dared to be different in a not the Last Jedi sort of way :lol :monkey3

don’t make me laugh. what’s so creative about the last 8 MCU movies that previous ones didn’t have?

I think the better question is what's so creative about the last three SW movies? I was bored to the core with all three of them. :lol

But in all seriousness...

GotG1 was creative, AoU was a repeat of A1, Ant-Man was generic, CW was dull, DS was something different but still dull, GotG2 tried way too hard, Homecoming wasn't anything new except for Vulture but was fine, and all of the visuals in Ragnarok blow anything in TFA, RO, and TLJ away. Disney SW are just poor rehashes of the OT, IMO.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

the fact that that the last 3 SW flicks have completely different climax’s is a start. Imagine if we got starkiller base 3 times.

Like I said, MCU is not perfect. But they do not rely on the past like SW does. Like Luke, Leia, Han, Falcon, Chewie. Dude, barely any new ships that are totally different from the OT. Starkiller Base? REALLY? A Jedi to be on a desert planet? Emperor guy with red guards that rules over a Lord? Rian lets us down with every element that Abrams built. The worst chase in the history of cinema. You have ships that can travel at the speed of light, yet we'll just let them run out of fuel? Don't make me laugh.

AOU: Wasn't great, but interesting in the development of Ultron and Vision. Hulkbuster fight worth price of admission.
Ant-Man: Very unique in the size change and the combat/tech elements. Criminal who gets taught to do the right thing by a mentor with a duality in daughter relationships.
CW: Heroes that disagree. Yes, BVS beat them to the punch. But it showed that, "United we stand, divided we fall". No one won. But it did lack with no one really paying the ultimate price.
DS: I thought the world changing shapes was a total ripoff of Inception. But I really enjoyed the use of magic and not using words like Harry Potter. The use of time was awesome.
GOTG2: Looked great. Looked into the father relationship, but honestly I didn't really care for this movie. Gunn did fall back on some of the same jokes.
SM: Got out of New York. Kid biting off more than he can chew, but just needed guidance. Great turn with the Vulture.
Thor Ragnarok: Overwhelming comedy. Creative, but too much for my taste. Did reign in Thor and actually took out his planet. No one seen that coming.

Hard to get so creative when there is a limited amount of genres. But they are creative in how they do their genres. WAY better action scenes. IMO, character means alot and Marvel has WAY better characters than SW since 2015. Not even close. But the reliance on OT influence and the deconstructing of what made Star Wars (Luke, Han and heroic action) is what is ruining SW from a creative standpoint. Any idiot can make a SW film and make 700 million. But its the creativity that really makes a movie impressive.

I agree with everything in bold.

You’re missing my point. I’m not asking what’s different between them but what have they done in the last year that has fundamentally changed the formula? Absolutely nothing. You can always expect flat jokes, big bangs, SJW ******** and a boss fight. Nothing has changed.

SW? Well they started off with a normal SW flick with TFA, then they announced smaller-scale stories that were separate from the rest of the U. (being good or bad) That’s adaptive, that’s change.

Want a better example then SW? Fine. Look at the X-Men franchise and how much it has grown.

MCU ain’t done **** but pump the same movie out with a different lead character. Hell, even the netflix TV shows have done this.
