A General Chat about Hot Toys

Well so far all the DX figures are something that has been made previously. Well DX 03 is just another Michael Jackson but it would be the 3rd MJ figure. Can't see it being a T-1000 since the first one ain't even out yet. And they did do Supes Returns figures so Reeve Supes is possible. That would make everyone's day.

Having said that it would be a massive seller so I could understand if HT went all out on it

I'm not particularlt keen on an Reeves Superman. Mainly because I'm not sure that will make for a cool Hot Toy.
I love Reeve's Superman but I always found his red y front a little too large!

Would it be too soon for a T2 Arnie Dx?

If they did another Sparrow as a DX, what would you want included?

- 3 headsculpts: Serious, Smiling and Cannibal
- Crown-thingy to go with Cannibal head
- Sword
- Broken Sword as seen in At World's End
- Cannibal scepter
- Toe-necklace
- Pistol
- Compass
- Removable items for the belts to recreate specific looks for each film
- Bottle of rum
- Dead Man's Chest with heart
- Aztec goldpiece
- Sao Feng's map to the farthest gate
- Movie accurate outfit including coat and hat.
- Several hands to go with all the accessories.

I think that pretty much covers it all...

Nope you're not the only one. I don't have any interest in that figure either.

I don't know.Not only is Superman an iconic character,but Reeve was the character.It's one of those definitive films out there,and just like Marlon Brando as The Godfather,and Heath Ledger as The Joker,it's one of those characters that DESERVES a Hot Toys figure.Not to mention that if Routh got a figure,but Reeve didn't.Well,that's some serious messed up ____ right there.

He definitely deserves a HT figure, I agree!
Reeves = Superman, period.

I'm just not a big enough fan of Superman to be wanting a figure of him. I'm happy for every collector that does though since this will be pretty much the ultimate 1/6th Superman.

There has been 3 dx figures so far 3! ..that is not enough to say that all the next dx figures will be redone previous releases, and bad dx03 mj was a totally new figure,there was never a previous version of that ..i thought the release of that would be enough to get those thoughts out of peoples heads, a dx can be anything.

That's why Michael Jackson got a DX after so many figures already since it was so recent and sort of a big deal internationally. Heath got one and the batman is sort of just there to compliment the joker. If judging by that Superman does have a high chance of being a DX figure. If death of the creators also count, than there is also things created by Stan Winston, which pretty much could be anything here Also could Frank Frazetta's work be possible? I don't think Movie Conan counts as Frazetta's work though does it?

Well that or bdt800 ..even with the regular t800 just being released i think hot toys may want to put out all there t2 stuff fast so they can get onto t1 ..and it will be ages b4 we get the dx05, so dx04 will be good for the bdt800, but that said, i still want reeves more

No offense, but Chris Bale ain't exactly 6ft under yet.... but yeah, it's more of a companion piece.

Well man sadly we will always encounter these decisions ..i think you should still definitely get whiplash,abi and the T1000 ..the way i crossed Perseus off my list is that 1-his film sucked and 2- i already have a marcus wright and a possible avatar sully in the future..i don't want to have a sam worthington shrine going on in my collection .
And as 4 dastan that sculpt put me right off him, that and the announcement of the assassins creed 2 figures, also abi has made black widow easy 2 pass on.

I have this problem all the time. Right now I am getting Mech Test and Aldo, upcoming I want War Machine, Mark V, Whiplash, Ezio, and more, haha.

Of those figures you mentioned there I only have the Abigail Whistler figure on PO right now.

I think Dastan is a cool figure, but I just don't like the character enough. Same with Perseus, but there it's the other way around. Liked the film and character, but the figure looks a bit plain...

Whiplash looks great and was a cool character, but I never planned to pick him up to begin with. I'm thinking of getting a Mk IV and that's it for the IM line. Black Widow looked cool, until Whistler came along...

T-1000 looks very awesome and is from one of the coolest films ever, so that's on I'll probably get too.

I am holding off getting anything until the end of July, after the Tokyo Toyfair, SDCC and Hong Kong's Ani-Com. I'm expecting great things to be announced at all three, especially holding out for a figure of Keaton's Batman.

Of the ones mentioned the T-1000 is the only one I'll be getting.

Won't be getting whiplash because I don't like the whips and I already have War Machine and mk IV on order so I don't need any more representation of figures from that film. Even though I was tempted by it initially, after plenty of time to think about it I would much rather put the money on something more iconic like the T-1000

Perseus... never had any interest in the film so the figure was never a consideration and the same goes for Dastan, no love for the franchise. Same for Assassin's Creed, never played the games and I'm not going to play the games just to see if I want the figures.

If I had Blade I would be tempted by Abigail, great looking figure with a great sculpt. But the lack of Blade and it's unlikely I'll be able to pick him up so won't be getting Abigail as a result.

Also with comic-con coming up some other figures or even licences may be announced. Don't know what but you never know what they might pull out the bag.
