Thanks to Mark(again!:D), I began work on my Weequay skiff guard. I decided to do the skiffmaster seen on the left of the picture below..

Here is a first shot of him.

Gonna see how this looks when it cures. If it strong enough to use, I will probably do a second jacket with a little more detail. Then I would take it part, paint it and then glue the parts back onto the shirt. We will see how that works. I am also thinking about purchasing some aqua resin, but that will be down the line.

If anyone has any tips or ideas that may help, I would really like to hear them.

Thanks,
Chris

If you have any tailoring/sewing machine experience that wouldn't be hard to whip up a 1/6th replica of that tunic if you got the right materials. If thats something you dont really get into I wouldn't mind whipping up one for you (since I'd make 1 for myself also :D), All I'd want in return is for you to point me in the direction of where I can get one of those Weequay heads.

I'm certain I have the mats, looks like some super thin grainless pleather/faux leather would do the trick (Probably just the outer layer peeled off), along with some thin batting and a lining, then a bit of time giving that quilted pattern on the sewing machine.

After you weathered it up it should look spot on to what in the picture.

Anyhow if your interested just send me a PM.

Chakaman, the tunic I used is off a Viking figure which you can usually find on Ebay loose.

Geez, that head sculpt is awesome, I might have to get rid of my crappy attempt at a Weequay sculpt.

Thanks, PM sent.

Yeah, I am really not sure how this was going to work. Just figured I would try something like this and see how it turned out.

That from Ignite? They make some killer clothing and accessories, to bad their bodies are so weak.

I bought that very same tunic off ebay after seeing your custom wearing it as it looks fantastic.

I hope it fits me okay.

I have bought some tunics from Viking/Ignite for some of the human skiff guards I am working on. They are very nice.

Hey guys,

Chakaman, I started work on the tan quilted tunic, Got the patern down and the fabric ready to go but have to pic up some thin batting today.

Dorgmal, I have the dark brown tunic almost ready for a final version since I had everything I needed on had, the prototype that I started was to dark of a brown and looked almost black in the wrong lighting, but it should look just lie the pictures below when the final is finished.

I got a lot of good pictures of the dark brown costume, the originals of the ones below were mostly around 3200 x 2400 pixels, but the tan on is hard to find any big pictures of and an using the site that Chakaman used.

The one of the Dark brown are shots from a museum set up and look a bit to light in the picture probably due to the lighting and use of a flash, but its apparently the actual costume used in ROTJ.

Anyhow, I will be headed to get the last bits I need today to finish them, Ill keep you all posted.

Got your Pm, sent you a reply.

Like I said, getting some nice super hi res shots of the commonly known Weequay was easy, but that tan one just doesn't exist except in the film..lol, but its cool the pics i got are plenty good enough.

After I get these done I should get off my butt and post some pics of other stuff Ive done, or am working on.

Very nice start.I'm interested to see how he turns out.

BTW,how's your human skiff guard coming along?

Thanks. Slowly. Having issues with the scarf that covers the face. I decided to leave it alone for a bit and finish my pilots.

Vivisect is making some outfits that should work better than my original plan. Looking forward to see what he comes up with.

Heres the rough Prototype for the Dark Brown Tunic. This is without the studs and the back is not done up with the wrinkles, and the wrinkled part in front is done in a fast sloppy way, the final will be stuffed and run through the sewing machine to mimic the film costume properly, this was really just to see how much extra length was needed.

Also the belt buckle piece I found in one of my model bits drawers, sadly I can only find one, cause with 4 holes drilled in it it would be a spot on match. The funny thing is its a 1:600 scale radar disk that goes on top of a radar plane from an aircraft carrier model. I still got many parts to dig through Ill probably find a few more.

Theres a few minor issues with it that will be solved on production version.

1. Its to dark, but I got a ton of new leather/suede in a much better color.

2. The shoulder pads need to much wider.

3. My model has a really bad porn mustache.

This is the way the shoulder needs to be, and the front and back straps need to lowered also as the studs are what are holding them on the prop costume.

Im also gonna include the armbands and belts so they will all be a perfect match, cause it can be a pain in the rear tryin to match it later.

Just popped in from the shed to have a really good gander. Just great Viv great,
