Just looking for suggestions on the better 1/6 star wars figures, I have plenty of the 4 inch figures but i'm new to the 1/6 world, looking in particular for vader and boba fett figs... I just don't really know where to start myself and I don't want to order one only to find theres a million better ones out there...

For the best darth vader figure, Id recommend sideshows. Its amazing!

It's a pretty open-ended question. Are you looking for the best figure of everything? Are you looking to display in a showcase or maybe do mini-dioramas? Do you have a fav. movie of the 6 films? Are you willing to do minor tweaks to a figure? Could get expensive. Hasbro has a lot of great figures that need just a little help. Dooku and the droids are widely considered above average for them. Sideshow nailed ANH Kenobi and Luke/Han Stormtroopers. If you do a search on individual figure threads here, you'll find the pro's and cons. A perfect example is the SS Vader. Plus's-Best in ANH duds by a country mile, Con's-generally considered too tall and many have said the helmet sits high and doesn't flair out enough in back. I think you'll get a lot of "Look around and see what you like best". There isn't alot that's pure crap, and even those may be fine by you. It's a very subjective line, in a good way. Makes for some fun debates:D

Don't limit yourself to only Vader and Fett.. both of these are great.

Its not so much a case of limiting myself, I never really buy full ranges of figs I tend to just pick and choose what I like, which mostly happens to be the evil guys! Or at least the evil looking guys :lol

I suppose I could have been more specific all right! Sorry! I'm really just looking for vader and fett, I don't do tweaks because I've never tried and these things cost a lot! I have a fear of ruining one! But its not something I'd rule out ever attempting or anything like that. Not looking for diorama's, I'm afraid to even try that because it would probably become a real obsession for me so I'll stick with shelves for now! I see what you mean about looking around myself but was just hoping to provoke a debate between everyone which gives me lots of perspectives! For example that vader pic looks brilliant, what might better it?

Oh and I'd like to keep the cost to around the $200 mark give or take

So you are one of those kinds of guys. Like my brother when we were kids who had to have the Tie-Fighter and all the bad guys while I was "stuck" with the landspeeder, Luke and Leia... ugh. :D

Well Sideshow definitely has the best ANH Vader hands down, despite the couple issues. I don't believe a definitive ESB Vader has been released by anybody yet. Currently ROTJ and ROTS Vaders are owned by Medicom. The thing that bites is they aren't the same scale as Sideshow if that's an issue. It's also widely believed that the inevitable Sideshow ESB, ROTJ, and ROTS Vader release will dominate the Medicom versions for a fraction of the price. But you'll have to be patient on those!! Good luck!

Usually yeah, but with star wars there was an exception, I was Solo, end of story. Anyone disagreed would answer to Chewie, who was always played by my freakily large (for a 10 year old) friend. Heady days they were...

I think on the Vader I'll play the waiting game and see what comes up...presumably the same story for Fett? Sideshow would be best?

A wise first post Darth Mitchell...

Can't go wrong with the Sideshow Vader, he's a great stand alone figure, or the start to your collection.

The Boba Fett from Medicom is very nice, but the scale is a killer. Sideshow will eventually release one and at this point I'm just waiting for that to happen.

You can't go wrong with Vader and yes Boba is a littel short but I will eventually replace his body with a slim tt.
Hers my Vader and Boba.

Cheers man, hopefully one day I will get one of my pics on the front page of SSFreaks or be able to to do a Banner for the top. That would be cool.
