1/6 - ThreeZero Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

I’ve personally never liked the movie suits as much. Kinda cool though.

The figure actually makes me realize just how ugly the movie suits are lol I never really noticed watching it way back. I think the film being shot in the dark whenever they were in the suits really helped. Doesn't look great under bright lighting. Also helped that it was on VHS so all the details were muddy at best.

Here’s the White Ranger: TOYS BATTALION TB010 1/6 Scale Albino Tiger

Might have to pick the Ninja line for the head sculpts.

Hope they do the rest of the Rangers.

Been picking up the Super 7 figures and Mezco for the actor's headsculpts because I did not think we would ever get them in 1/6 scale.

If that head sculpt was better I would pick it up.

I never liked the movie costumes but may dip into it for Tommy.

Okay the Ninja suit tempts me more..

Yeah I agree. Something about this makes me hesitate. I was all over the Black Dino Ranger when SooSoo released it for PO, but I’m taking my time thinking about this one.

I’m also interested in that as well as it looks more realistic. Threezero is leaning toward the old school look that most of us grew up with or watching Super Sentai in that case.

Dammit, I love both sets of these suits but Toys Battalion absolutely suck.
They made that horrific, shrimpified Shazam.

But, the movie suits were so simple and corny looking that TB’s lack of quality probably won’t hurt the design, plus none of the rangers were over 6ft tall, and both of these cost the same as a HT figure for me.
I’ll give it a few days. If GunDamit put them up I can PO for a dollar and wait it out in the hope that this move will force TheeeZero’s hand.

The sculpt is certainly lacking but I can see Tommy’s features in there.

On a positive note, a 3P acknowledging MMPR could open the gate for more figures.

Something about these looks off. But at the same time, I don't see anyone else making these anytime soon. I might be able to work with these and do some customizing.

The problem is it barely does look like tommy. That Tommy head sculpt needs to me better, if I will dip. I have a feeling another company will do a better job down the line.

A bit of both. Some angles do, some don't.

The movie suit is actually what was throwing me off so I did some closer inspections and there's a lot that's not quite right. The ab design is different, the shoulders should be more triangular and shouldn't have thick black lining, the gold stripe down the middle should be unbroken, and the chest emblem should match the pale gold of the rest of the trim, among other details. But, again, it's not like there's a lot of competition right now.

(Seeing these suits outside of grainy VHS tapes is quite the blow to my childhood...)

The Ninjetti outfit bothers me a bit less since I'd probably keep him masked up, but I understand a lot of people have been wanting good headsculpts. I think a few tweaks and paint might fix it up. The likeness is definitely off, but it's also maybe 60% there too. I think the ears and nose are a bit too big and the eyes lack his piercing stare.


Edit: Still amused that three third-party makers announce they're making Tommy figures in a month.

Wow it’s a good time to be a Power Ranger fan lately. Those look great. I just don’t know if I want the Zeo team.

They look awesome together, but I don’t want the Zeo team. Red Ranger is definitely coming home because I must have my Hall of Tommys.

I really like the Zeo team, but I wasn't ready to justify the whole MMPR team either currently so I need to be selective... but, yeah, Tommy's a guarantee.

They do look great though! And I KNEW Zeo Gold was in the cards. SooSoo and Present Toys all tackling him too makes him rather popular lately.

Finally they reveal zero. I only want red and pink though.
