Media Death Stranding: a Kojima Productions game

I hope one day a Decent Figure Company can make a 1/6 set of Sam porter and Cliff same with Fragile that would be so dope

I decided to pick up the official Death Stranding Art Book several days ago from Amazon (as of this post, it's currently on sale for $22.09). It has a really nice mixture of concept art from Yoji Shinkawa and computer generated pictures of the environment. Here's a mini-review...

The book comes shrink-wrapped with a standard, glossy jacket-cover.



The edges of the pages are embossed in metallic gold to give it a premium look. Whether someone likes this aesthetic or not is a matter of personal preference. That said, I'd rather have non-glossed pages since the gold will rub off with continued use. However, the pages contrasts really well with the black hardcover of the book when the dust jacket is removed.

Introducing Sam Porter Bridges - the only man to be named after a delivery company. Just like Vince Mailman FedEX.










Shinkawa painted some really awesome concept art. Overall, I think Death Stranding would've been better served as an ambiguous art concept than an actual game.

Shinkawa also excels at female character designs. Just my opinion, but I think the females from Shinkawa's sketches look a lot prettier than the actresses in this game.

Some very nice looking computer art.





Overall, this is a really nice art book to have especially if you like Yoji Shinkawa's style, or if you own the MGS art books. And as with everything else from Yoji Shinkawa that inevitably becomes super-expensive, you should get this while it's still cheap.

I thought it wasn?t happening since it had been so long but mentioned it again in an interview last month

I almost forgot about the Limited Edition art book. I wonder what's the hold up.

There's a Q&A here from Metal Gear Informer with Shinkawa, where he says he's working on a new project. Not sure if it's for Death Stranding or something totally unrelated.

A new project will be announced quite soon, according to Yoji Shinkawa

Saw this replica Q-pid necklace set on Amazon. I'm not sure how many were produced, but I just ordered one.

The Limited Edition Art Book just shipped for me today. The edition number is only 300, but there are still some available from the Titan Books webstores as well as Forbidden Planet.

I might have to pick one up.

Yeah, it looks pretty cool. Have to say, my main reason for getting it was the signed lithograph from Yoji Shinkawa . I'm not sure if Kojima and him will be hosting any more signing sessions, so it's good to at least have something from Death Stranding with one of their signatures.

Forbidden Planet - The Art of Death Stranding (Limited Edition Hardcover)

My Death Stranding Limited Edition Art Book came in came in several days ago. Here are a few pics.

The edition number is listed outside of the packing box with a sicker. I never like it when publishers do this, because it means that you can't ever throw away the box (a certificate would've been much better, by comparison).



The book is fairly large, standard in size to other art books of its caliber.



I haven't opened it as yet. In fact, I ordered another one, as I plan on keeping one of the packages sealed and opening the other - both of which I plan to display. As of writing this, there are 12 more art books available from Another Universe. So, better get it fast if you're on the fence.

I'm currently playing the game for the first time on my Steam Deck, after many times trying and failing to muster the motivation to play on my PS4 due to how slow paced the game is and honestly it feels more suited for a portable machine than a console. Also woke up to the news that the frontman for Low Roar (which is prominently featured in this game) has passed away at the young age of 40.

I read about it too a real shame Kojima introduced me to Low Roar and a lot of their songs, including ones from the game ended up on my playlist, I hope he finds rest wherever he is.

It's a shame I was hoping there would be more Death Stranding stuff like Metal Gear Solid. And even more figures. I really wanted a Higgs figure, Troy Baker was amazing as Higgs.

I was really hoping for a 1/6 Sam figure, that suit design was very cool.

I’m disappointed with how the Figma came out. And it didn’t come with an alternate hair down head.

Anyone bought the 1/1 BB pod from Kojima webstore? Have I just spent $300aud on plastic crap, or is it a decent bit of merch?
