Most people love those movies. You don't?
I guess… if you like the same formulaic plot line with ridiculous finale. I want to like the M:I movies but they let me down every time I’ve watched one so, I’ve stopped watching them.

Very similar to the Fast & Furious movies. Both franchises are terrible; guess it just shows that people can become accustomed to wanting more garbage.

All this talk of Cruise playing Iron Man… the only acceptable Iron Man other than RDJ would be the drunken Mego figure from Toyfare. Now THAT was Tony Stark! 😂

I guess I must like garbage then, as I've enjoyed the MI movies since Ghost Protocol - I don't think MI is even remotely comparable to the Fast & the Furious. That is the subjectiveness of movies.

Just surpassed Titanic domestic :thud:

Paramount CEO released a statement acknowledging the milestone and congratulating all involved.

It passed Titanic's initial run, not it's total. But still ... it's pretty impressive. And I'm sure it will eventually pass Titanic's overall total as well.
It became the 12th member of the over $600 million domestic club.

Jennifer Connelly said that she saw Maverick in the theater four times it's first week just because it was so exciting to be watching the audience reaction to the film. :yess:

You know how studios always exchange posters congratulating each other’s box office records Paramount should release Tom Cruise in a fighter jet sinking James Cameron’s boat with a missle lol
Cameron recognizing that since Paramount called out TGM surpassing Titanic's initial domestic run that means that no amount of re-releases will ever change that fact, lol:

With a bunch of passengers using Kelly McGillis as a life raft, lol.

I suppose it's too much to ask that TGM passes Avatar's domestic haul so he can keep going and light up the lame ass tree on Pandora as well lol...

p.s. - Isn't sinking The Titanic a tad redundant?

There's a massively underrated vampire movie called Stakeland. McGillis is in it. It's actually pretty good. She's very good in it. Sean Nelson from the 94 film ,Fresh, which is another sleeper hit, was in it too.

Personally I think Cobra Kai ruined the cameo opportunities for TGM. CK went super heavy on the cameos and I think Cruise probably wanted to avoid it. Also if he brought back everyone but McGillis, he would have been "cancelled" for it.

Honestly they should just make a TV show. Cruise and Teller won't be in it. But you could bring back everyone else. It's not like Jon Hamm's movie career is flying off the charts. Then you could bring back McGillis, Andy Dufrense, and Goose's "twin brother", who used to be an ER doctor. At this point ,why not.

I would have probably seen it 6 times total if I knew when and where Jennifer watched it. :naughty

I still prefer The Batman just because it's Batman. Kinda like Jye unconditionally prefers any SW over ST, or any ST over PT.

Ironically with all the work he's had done he now resembles Kilmer.

Mickey is a lock as Sarah Connor in the next Terminator movie, alongside Elliot Page as a time-shifted Eddie Furlong John Connor.

I can see you one day Cruise being groomed for a high level executive position at Paramount but I wonder how they would deal with a baby eating alien cult as their leader lol
