I ever tell ya' how much I like shopping for TMNT at Target?

Yeah that is just a bunch of tchotchke stuff that probably costs $5 to actually manufacture. I got out of buying collectors editions for games years ago once I started getting into 1/6 and other collectibles. Limited Run is probably the biggest offender these days with the ridiculously priced collectors editions they put out with stuff like non-functioning decorative metal replica game carts, key chains, and folded-up posters.

If the diorama was more compelling (like an actual statue) I'd probably bite.

But I agree, not worth the $110 premium.

As you mentioned, my standards have changed on these video game collector's editions once I started getting into 1/6 and higher-end collectibles.

IMO, the Cowabunga Limited Edition is all about that art book. If done well, it could be a proper production time capsule for all the previous turtles games and that sounds like a dream to me. I'll be at the mercy of eBay if I can't snag the Switch LE version to get one.

Hopefully you can get it.

I agree, video game limited editions are usually overpriced but this one only feels slightly so. The game itself is $40 and while everything else doesn't amount to a $110 value intrinsically, they'd all cost that or more individually at retail.

It just doesn't feel like a great value if you don't want any of it. But the art book is key because a nice compendium type art book like that would usually not be cheap on its own.

It's not available online at Best Buy at the moment but it's listed. It's not a Target exclusive so you may be able to get it elsewhere.

Yeah the book was the only thing I wanted but I'm not blowing $150 to get it. I'll look at a scan some day lol
Better yet, why don’t they release a proper full-sized version of the Art Book? I know the Guardians of the Galaxy Video Game Collector’s Edition included a mini art book and then they released a longer full-sized art book later.

That’s a really good idea. I’m going to have to look into that.

Best way to preserve it. Go to a well reviewed independent framer and not a big store like Michael’s. UV acrylic and acid free materials will cost a little more, but it’s the best way to keep everything safe.

Looks like everything is in pretty good shape and there’s a lot of sentimental value so it’d be worth doing. Plus it would look great displayed on the wall.

Thank you very much for the pointers. I’ll definitely be looking for a smaller local business that does framing. I agree, this kit would look amazing hanging on a wall!
