    acryllic paint question

Hi, I'm working on a base coat that I really like. After reading the tutorials I am trying to apply it as a wash. I've noticed despite mixing the paint well (at least I thought I did) the wash tends to separate into some of its original colors. I'm not sure what I'm not doing correctly with...

    Skin tone / detail question

Hi I was wondering if anyone has tried this method: Setting a pinkish flesh tone base then washing with a burnt umber or sienna then washing the areas that get blood with a red wash? Does that sound like a logical procedure?

Need help with wash over pastels

So I just found a good base color that is close to my true type body - just a bit less red. Should I use a redder skin tone wash to bring out the color more or just highlight with paint or pastels?

Need help with wash over pastels

Hi, I've started the long road to painting a 1/6th head. So, after reading the suggested tutorials. I'm finding it difficult to use a wash over the pastel shading I'm using. It seems that it is either too thick and covers much of the pastel too much or too loose and beads on the matte coating...

My first attempt at skin tone

Thanks for all the great feedback. I've been trying and it seems at least for me a stiffer brush works better for the pastels. Now I have to just practice the actual technique so that my heads don't look like my 6 year old daughter applied makeup lol

LOL Will still be doing that! I want quality for my figures. I have a ways to go. Still its a fun process and your work among others is a definite inspiration

My first attempt at skin tone

Good to know. I still haven't figured out how to keep the pastel chalk to adhere to the paint surface. It seems that when I apply it it doesn't leave any color. What am I not doing correctly?
