Where did I say anything about my personal collection? I'm not having a **** measuring contest. I have a very modest collection. But it's important to me that it's all made of genuine pieces. If it's not "real" then what's the point of pursuing it?

Because you want the figure? No one who I know in real life gives 2 ****s about Hot Toys/Sideshow/anyone else. They just see figures. Almost no one in real life is going to be more impressed if you've got a more expensive version of a figure than a cheaper version.

If you read what I wrote and took that as "putting people down" then I don't know what to tell you. That's really overly sensitive, in my opinion.

So you don't see a difference between an Action Comics number one from 1938, or a reprint from 2018?

Heres what you said....

"...People buy bootlegs and knock offs and "third party" items all the time, just to save a buck. If buying "REAL" merchandise is too rich for your blood, then you might need a cheaper hobby"

"... collecting, by its very nature, IS elitist. There's always going to be someone with a bigger and better and more expensive collection than yours"

IF you dont see that your putting peeps down, then i odnt know what to tell you bro. Its a ****** attitude.

I stand by what I said. I collect my way, you collect your way, others collect their way.

I was simply stating my opinions on the hobby, and the nature of collecting.

YOU were the one that made personal insults, not me.

I've said all I have to say about it.

Because some of the knockoffs are figures that I want that the big boys aren't releasing?

Doesn't surprise me. People buy bootlegs and knock offs and "third party" items all the time, just to save a buck.

Let’s not forget, the purchase of a knockoff isn’t always because of saving some money. Many times it is because there was a limited run and they were not able to get one, or they came into the hobbby after a run was over and could not get one.

Of course there's a value difference, but if I want to sit and read Action Comics #1 (just how I look at, pose, photo my toys) there's no difference. Hell the reprint will be clearer. For instance there are many knockoff Transformers that improve over the the Takara/Hasbro releases in some ways.

M8 threads are the best threads .....no contest.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Absolutely! Almost sad this is gonna be over soon after their 1 release.

It's a tough call. Just as the Lennon figure I would like to have a good 1/6 John Lennon in my collection. But in this case, I just can't bring myself to spend the money to support the M8 knowing they rip off the artists who put in the times and efforts.

unfortunately this is true. What i still dont get is how some peeps are praising that sculpt?? The paint apps are horrible. It looks like a chap 99 cent store ceramic figure

The clothing is decent probably the only thing - looking to get a custom sculpt done to use what can be salvaged.

Head body etc can go in the box as no one is buying this for near cost. The clothing works well on a normal body.
