Who should play Captain America?

Leonardo DiCaprio is a good actor, But he dosen't have the face or Body to play Cap.America.

Maybe they should use a has-been that hasn't been in the movies for a while, seems to work lately for Marvel movies

Matt Damon was the first name that came to mind when I saw the title of this thread, so I voted for him.

If we're looking for someone who isn't a huge star I'd go with Ben Browder from Farscape.

If John Cena got the role I would not watch the movie.

But the earlier poster had it right about Cap's age. He had to be at most, 20 when he got the serum. And you have to assume that this is post 1941, so he has only 4 years as Cap, making him 24 when he disappears and is frozen.

I will vote for an unknown to play Cappy. I will gift wrap this role to Justine Long! Hey, everyone disagreed with Jon chooses Downey but now, everyone, me included, says Downey is born to play Stark. I say Justine Long, let the studio beef him up, we got our hero!

Steve Rogers was born on July 4, 1917 according to comic history. That puts him at 23 at the youngest when he could have received the serum since they just list that everywhere as the early 1940s. In reality though most people think it happened in 1942 which would put him at 25 and then 29 when frozen.

Also wasn't the McConaughey rumor disproven as soon as it was posted? No need to put him in really since Marvel Studios already said they weren't looking that way. Just like there is no need to have 2 Captain America movie threads....

I think they made smart casting decision with RDJ and Edward Norton--casting real actors for the parts. They aren't just getting an unknown and assuming the audience will show up because the guy in the poster looks nice. Get somebody who can act, and who has a proven track record as an actor.

The key difference is that neither of these actors is really seen when their superhero character is in action. The Hulk is CGI and RDJ is in a suit of CGI armour... Cap will be Cap... And I don't really see Leo tossing that mighty shield.

I'm gonna be honest with you, when they casted Bale as Batman I said "The Guy from American Psycho and Equilibrium? He's alright in those movies but he can't play Batman..." I was dead wrong, my favorite actor to wear the suit. DO NOT COUNT OUT AN ACTOR DUE TO PREVIOUS ROLES, they've surprised us before.

Its just a thought but I actually like Tomas Jane. He's the one who played in the first punisher. I think he's a good actor. I personally would rather see him than Leonardo do that role. Just thought I would throw that out there.
