Thought I would show you guys where I am in my build/painting of Kaiyodo's Shin Godzilla 4th Form vinyl kit. For a hard vinyl kit, everything went together with really no problems--hair dryer made everything squishy and allowed fitting and gluing to go down perfectly. I filled the feet with resin so they would be solid. The body, legs and tail were filled with Great Stuff foam to give it structure and to make sure nothing sags over time. I also filled with resin the fins that were hollow as well as the head and the end of the tail. It's big and it's heavy and it's got some definite girth to it now. There were some seams but I used Aves two part sculpting putty and Tamiya Putty to fill in the slight gaps here and there. I brought out the sculpting tools to try to match the texture of the skin as I did not want the puttying I did to look smoothed out. I've now hit it with a red primer and will be beginning next the long road to painting it with a mix of Tamiya and Freak Flex paints. Really looking forward to laying down that bloody red, maroon and violet mix across the body then coming in and hitting it with that great Godzilla grey/black top coat. Going to be slow going but I think I can pull it off since I have a couple of nice airbrushes that are up to the task.

First post in here.

How are the X-Plus 2014 Godzillas? I had PO'd both the regular and Atomic breathe versions on BBTS and was curious to their quality since I know the regular version at least was already available.

Interesting new offering from X-Plus. It's funny, I was just thinking the other day about whether or not they would release new Gargantuas in the Large Monster Series. They give us busts instead. Unfortunately these are the old Kaibutsuya sculpts, and they just aren't that great.

I'm working to get the tail done, took a break from focusing on the body thinking the tail would be simpler, but the reality is, there are so many precise details about Shin that it's all slow and tedious, but I'm feeling better about the whole figure as I get closer to finishing.

I was taking quality photos of collectibles last weekend and took a few quick shots of my repaint just to see how it's looking under nicer lighting.

NECA Shin is in stock through NECA's eBay and Amazon stores, same cost basically for me vs BBTS and it arrives weeks earlier so I ordered and should have him early to mid next week.

I placed an X plus order at Flossiesgifts since Monday and they still haven't shipped it. Never ordering from them again.

Looks like the Ric exclusive will include the Garuda attachment and plasma beam.

No word yet on whether these parts will be interchangeable/detachable. I'm conflicted as to which I'd want to go with. He looks cool with the extra firepower, but I don't consider them as essential as I did on Kiryu for some reason. Could be because I had the Bandai version as a kid and that figure sported no guns. What to do, what to do...
