I think the BCS sculpt is good, quite caricature-ish though. And the factory paintwork was so flat.

Anx10us, Kuato did a repaint of the BCS sculpt and posted it earlier in the thread, it's a great paint job, and it might give you a bit of an idea of what you'd expect if you went with a top painter for a BCS sculpt.

Daco's sculpt is the best out there in terms of Sherlock sculpts. I love my Sherlock custom and I don't think I'd need to upgrade the sculpt again, but I would be interested in a Yunsil commission for a dogtooth coat... the Pop Toys one is fine but I bet she could do some wonderful work on that coat.

I hope Daco offers his Moriarty soon - when he first joined on here he posted pics of four sculpts and Moriarty is the only one he hasn't offered thus far. https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/custom-creations/157750-head-sculpts.html

I haven't heard any recent news about that CGL Watson, I hope that's being revealed soon. :)

It's a passable sculpt, but more of a representation of Sherlock, IMO. Yeah, Trevor is talented. His Tweeterhead work is very nice. However, a lot has to do with the flat paint on BCS Sherlock. I have a spare BCS head, that I want to get repainted one day to see if it improves it in any way.

Daco was much closer. If you decide to commission, give us a shout here, as some of us may jump on board. What we really need is a good Watson and Moriarty next. I'm not a fan of Daco's Watson - It's nice, just didn't make me want to change the BCS one or spend that kind of money. There was a KO sculpt mentioned in this thread (CGL, I think), but not seen it again.

I will let you guys know, but like my current commission, I will keep it to the down low until I have enough casts to sell.

Yeah, I saw that paint. Better than stock by a long way.

I remember that brilliant Daco Moriarty, but it was so long ago that I've dismissed it.

Thanks for the images of a repainted BCS Sherlock. Even with a new coat of paint, the head still looks cartoony. I think one of the issues with the sculpt is that the jawline is wide. When looking at the images of the actor alone, it is a lot thinner.

Perfect observation.

I wonder if the jawline modification was the factory'settings or BCS' doing as the prototype sculpt didn't look as huge:

Also, I purchased a pop toys Sherlock for $130 USD shipped. I will likely sell the head on head for obvious reason. I will also use the scarf I have gotten from cmiller a while back. After reading the thread, it seems that the BCS violin is more accurately sized. Anyone knows where I can get a loose one?

I don't think there'll be a huge amount of BCS violins floating around any more... there's a few third party violins on eBay but I'm not sure how accurate they are, Gido could probably tell you more about that than I can. :lol

: lol
Poptoys and just 1/6 eBay violins are very similar, good looking made.BC was bit slimmer, what I prefer, but those are also very realistic, just bit other shape instrument kits.

Yeah. I should have jumped on getting one when people were breaking up the BCS sets. Oh well. I can always check out the BCS fb fangroup to see if anyone has a spare violin and magnifying glass.

I haven't looked at the BCS site for a while. I paid for these a very long tome ago.

Not great, but still better than their usual attempts:

This is the head I'll be using the with Poptoys coat. I'll have him coming out of the door.

Even though that Sherlock looks like a modified TG, which I am doubting, I am going to use that head as well - I will wait till BCS sells it separately.

Gonna get around to finally futzing my Daco + Pop Sherlock this weekend. Can't wait.

Found what drawer I'd hidden that scarf in, Cam :duff

I've also realised that the slick-back hair version of Cumberbatch might work with a deerstalker. . . hmm. Now I've just got to find an appropriate 1/6 deer stalker hat.

I have forgotten to mentioned that I received the Pop Toys Sherlock figure from ebay last Saturday and won an auction for that Petskywalker painted Daco Sherlock head for $73.88 USD total (it is 40 pounds plus 15 pounds for shipping). The price isn't bad considering that is around the amount an unpainted one from Daco cost if I am not mistaken.
