Oh man, you just reminded me how much I'd love a Hot Toys 1/4 Keaton Batman, Cavil Superman, and Affleck Batman. If they made those and a Spidey and Reeve Superman I'd be really pleased and really broke.

Someone on Facebook nailed it I think - the "Let's make art..." Nicholson Joker in makeup. Considering they need to recoup the likeness payments to Nicholson - I can see this happening.

This is my most-wanted Batman 89 figure, along with a 1/4 scale Batman & Joker. I'd be down for any Nicholson Joker variants.

Well judging from the bat symbol it looks like Batman forever.
I think the purple is for Harvey Dent Two-Face and the green is for the Riddler that would be cool to get a Jim Carrey

As I said, the symbol(or at least one version close) is also tattooed on the joker from Suicide Squad (Leto) so it seems more likely to be from the current generation. It seems more likely that the newer Batman has evolved the symbol over the years...unless they tie in previous films. But the symbol on Leto (at least one) is not the one worn by Batman in BvS

Do they even have that license anymore? It's been like what? 3 years since Mime Joker, and I remember them teasing those first figures all the way back in like 2010 or 09? What's the typical duration on deals like that?

If Hot Toys doesn't have the license anymore, I hope Blitzway gets it.

Doubt it. Would be too good to be true. It would be cool to get Museum or Mob Nicholson Joker, but I doubt they'd do it now. They squandered those rights I'm sure. Mime Joker was the end of that. It's about as much of a pipe dream as Catwoman and Penguin.


The focus is on Leto Joker and Suicide Squad now. Guarantee this show features Suicide Squad and BvS predominantly.

It's the most common Batman logo. They use it all the time.

I get that part. My post was about all the speculation that it's either a new license (batman&prob in or forever) or maybe returns/89...and not the new generation of Batman items...since the logo/symbol is not the one seen in BvS...so I was pointing out that the current iteration has ties to that same logo and without evidence otherwise it seems much more likely that they would focus on those characters over the others.

Generally 3-5 years...but the license can be renewed by the rights owner without new figures if they want to. It's entirely up to Warner. And it may not say that a figure has to be released but that reasonable progress toward that goal must be achieved (it's usually written that way) so that if an item has complications at the tooling or production stage they don't rush out product substandard. Warner is also notorious for forcing licensees to hold product back in favor of newer items. If that happens it usually resets the clock as well.

Motuxmen, what is your opinion on another Ledger Joker? Do you think another one is in the works?

I have not heard anything specific about one. Normally I would say probably not, but that character and figure have done decent for hot toys and the character is still popular (ledgers version I mean). Warner is usually pretty firm on not allowing something that's just about to reboot/retool get the old version merchandised...but I think this may be a bit different. Add in that if you ever talk to or hear from both JC and the sculptor on the ledger figure (and Howard) they all say that the Ledger Joker is the figure they most want to redo (even after the 2.0) because is just didn't come out as good from the production side. So I do think there will be another version, I just am unsure when. I wouldn't think this year due to SS but it's so hard to predict these things.

Yeah focus has to be on making as many Leto jokers as possible now, I reckon we will see a suicide squad batman (because if the people that didn't like BVS like SS then they will buy it) and the event will be variations of that batman customised by artists. Personally the colours behind the bat symbol have to relate to SS, there's no way they relate to batman forever when hot toys can't even make a returns catwoman or penguin
