You can get some good results from the sideshow sculpt I reckon.
Will be replacing mine soon with the inigou one when that's released.

Yeah, you can, is yours the hatless head with mods? The SSC hat to work with is the spare, if you take the lining out it will sit better on the head than the regular one does. I've never really been keen on the Inigo heads in the long run, the computer models have looked good, but I've never been satisfied enough with the printed version to want one. The V2 is an improvement but it's still not perfect. I don't think there is a perfect one, but, we just have to make the best of what there is. Mind you, if SH Figuarts were to do a 1/12 Indy then I'd kick my 1/6 one into touch in a heartbeat!

You know, that figure's got to have cost close to a grand, but it looks truly superb. And the way it goes with Indy, it's probably better to spend that kind of money now and enjoy it now than wait the 15 years before the "perfect" commercially released 1/6 Indy goes up for sale... likely for $500-750 by then.
Sounds like you're finally understanding custom figures....[emoji109]

That's the MJ sculpt Inigo fedora M.Fisher gunbelt and whip.
Kato shirt, jacket, and pants.
HT satchel and boots

hi guys, sorry to butt in.
What kind of treatment do you guys do on your custom jackets?
I got a Kato jacket for my Indy, unused, it looks good, but it looks brand new, suede.

How can you achieve that worn leather look?

I can answer for Hector on that one! The jacket has an application of leather dressing, in particular 'Pecards Leather Dressing'. I did it on my Kato jacket as I thought the same as you, like suede when new. A thin application of the dressing and it instantly looks like worn leather - it is a permanent change though.

well that is some good explanation, glad to hear you also thought it looked like suede!

thank you Cavlcade!

Never had a prob with the SS head sculpt. Love it. Size is perfect to me.

What Jacket is that? It looks amazing.

Thanks.

Yessir. It looks great to my eye since I'm not overly picky about the small details like that. MJ Choi killed it with the sculpt.

It's only since Kit listed the recast Choi that I've actually started taking notice of the custom sculpts, so I'm starting to see things I've overlooked before.

I've peeked in here a few times and admired everyone's stuff, but never thought about going for a custom Indy on my own. I couldn't get myself to settle for the DX05 or Sideshow ToD, so finally pulled the trigger. I was close to going for that recast too :lol Glad I opted for the real deal.

Yeah, I can't come to terms with the DX05 sculpt. I've tried, and sometimes at just the right angle it's inoffensive. :lol

However, the SS TOD was a revelation for me. So much so, that as you probably know, I bought two full sets. I know we all see different things in sculpts, hence the wide variety of opinions.

The Choi real deal looks a lot better than the recast on offer, but there's something in its genetics that reminds me too much of the DX05 - the sculpt I'm trying to finally escape. (I just need one more sculpt to save my third Indy from DX05-ness).

Going back to what Kuat said about noticing things, the first thing I thought of when I saw K1NG's pic was that the head looks like Dubya Bush! I know, in most other pics you do see Harrison, but, I actually saw Dubya and I can't get past it. Still, at the end of the day, you have a figure that you're happy with and that should be all that counts.

This is it in a nutshell.

If you have a figure on display that gives a you a buzz (or even that warm fuzzy feeling!) then you know that the job's done. It doesn't matter what other's think, because you know yourself that it looks right.

That's it Roger! George W Bush to a tee! I'll never un-see that now either!! Glad I went with the Inigo...

Absolutely! That's what it's all about. And we all have so many different versions of Indy, it's awesome seeing what everyone has and are satisfied with on their shelf.

And don't get me wrong, I was CLOSE to ordering the Sideshow Indy, and still might one day to have a ToD iteration. I just really wanted a Raiders version. Just in case I don't go for any others, I have one from my favorite Indy film. Sideshow did well with their sculpt and it's much better than HT. I'd like to see HT tackle another Indy one day. Maybe they'll do an old version for Indy 5, lol.
