Love to read that kind of stuff.

Whether its true or not -- Ultron did hum the Pinocchio theme -- it's always good to hear someone say that they won't "Disney-fy" the thing. Time will tell.

Yeah, JJ is the ultimate positive PR man.
He used Spielberg as his model. While it is nice to read this, he would say exactly the same thing if things were going horribly.
And yes, he would throw out compliments like that one aimed at Kathleen Kennedy, from all suggested rumours they can't stand each other.
Keep your enemies close.

A little pessimism is always healthy.

My tentative prediction at this stage, is that I'll kinda like Ep7 - & won't give a **** about anything else they do after that.

I think I will really like it, on it's own terms, it looks and feels like cool Star Wars at the moment. Thats enough for me to get excited about. I think that will wear off pretty quickly though. I have zero in interest in Gareth what's his name's Rogue One. And that's a first for me with SW. I even mustered up a bit of excitement for Rebels.
I hated Godzilla, and Monsters was a nice VFX cheap short film expanded into a cheap boring overrated feature. I haven't seen anything that warrants my interest at all. Even the first official still was as boring as ****. That's where I think Disney's plans are gonna fall apart. The movies in between the "official" episodes could well dilute the franchise to the point that SW loses it's box office magic.

I can't speak to how good the upcoming films will be, but let me tell you this, Star Wars is going strong with the newest generation. Not only is my 6 year old daughter in love with Star Wars, so are her classmates. I see tons of kids wearing SW shirts and backpacks, and most reflect the OT, rather than Rebels or the PT. the excitement is there for the young, I'm beginning to think that us aging fans will matter less and less as time goes by, and that may be a good thing to keep SW relevant.

Excellent post. Totally agree, my 7 year old son has a Darth Vader pack back and lunch box, he going to be Darth Vader for Halloween. It's amazing how multi -generational Star Wars has become. As you said, my son is into the OT , not Rebels or clone wars as much.

Ultimately a bit of a non-story IMO. As others are saying here, he's just towing the company line. As an aside, I don't like how all these internet geek news site writers just speculate wildly in every story they write. I don't know if they never took a news writing course (I did, many years ago), or if this is just what they are actually trained to do at this point. Probably the latter. It's all entertainment and website hits. Any actual news is a secondary consideration.

Having said all that, I don't know that it's bad if Disney does have a strong hand in this. They have an army of storytellers working over there who know what they're doing, and producers who know how to handle those folks. And Abrams' last directorial effort wasn't exactly amazing.

Wow… this is interesting!! Alec Guinness made out like a bandit for a film he hated and these numbers are only from 1980.

is there any new word about the ticket pre-sale for October 19th ..is that confirmed or still just a rumor?

Peter Cushing isn't listed. Does that mean he made less than Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill on that first film? I find that hard to believe.

EDIT - That's not their actual salary. That's all the extra they make off the profits? I'm confused.

I think this was the profits report if you will in 1980. Their salaries were different I think. I also actually read that David Prowse claims he was never paid for ROTJ. He says he keeps getting letters that ROTJ never made a profit.
