What, no more pics/vids of this king(queen) of beasts???? Surely this masterwork deserves more discussion & celebration? Won't have mine in hand for another month, so you fellow dino freaks are my only life line to the sublime.

I had to send mine back to Sideshow and am waiting for a replacement, but here's a little something for now: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1430664520.866091.jpg

Ha-ha, thanks Mutant-man! Your pic is more prophetic than you may think, as I own the very same type of cat! Based on that, the Rex truly has some serious size to her, & yes, I'm sure my own cat will also take an interest. And so the long wait continues........................for both of us.

P.S. Why the return to SS? What were the issues with your REX?

Got mine last week and I was going to take pictures of it and post them here. Unfortunately it had a broken foot claw, a missing tooth as well several paint scratches. I notified SS and they said they'd send me a replacement. The replacement will arrive in a couple of days. I hope it looks better than the first one.

Impressive sculpt though. It's as massive as the Stegosaurus. :)

Anyway, here's my statue. It will face the hammer as soon as I get the replacement.

My cat didn't like the statue at all! Went and hid under the kitchen table until I put him away.

Had to send mine back due to badly flaking paint on the base. Sideshow is replacing the whole thing (Rex also had some paint scuffs).

Some really great pictures here. Blade, I love the outdoor shots!

Speaking of the massive Stegosaurus, I'm thinking of getting the repaint version. I'm worried about the paint, but also the size. I think the trex will look good sandwiched between the stegosaurus and new triceratops. But is the stegosaurus just too big, that it would look odd? Can anyone post a pic of the King next to the Steggo if you have them both?

Here's how I've settled on displaying the King for now. This guy seem to be a lot more stubborn about the lighting in this room than the other dinos :wink1:

The head area seems to be painted different compared to other tyrant king statues, the small claws looks like they have no paint on it.
I think there are some guys with good painting skills at the factory and some not. Look at the three "black dots" on the lower jaw, i don´t like that.

Could you post more detail pics of it robban? Maybe i am wrong...

Yeah, mine appear to have a poor paint job. Hopefully the replacement will be better. I too noticed the lack of detail on the claws. They don't stand out at all. Also, the three black blotches on the lower jaw have been applied poorly. The body looks ok, but the head is the main attraction. If they screw up the head the whole sculpture falls with it. :(

Some close ups.

Great pics & vid guys & gals! The close-up shots really show off the extremely fine details for this magnificent sculpt. Barring any pieces which may have sub par painting apps, this T-rex should be considered as one of the very best ever produced. Simply can't wait to get this iconic creature in house. Thanks again to all who have posted images of the Tyrant King.
