Yup. They are standing by their decision. They say mine looks no different than theirs or the one in the gallery. Not too impressed in my first Sideshow piece in many years.

Damn, that really sucks. My R2 came with a couple little dents and blemishes, but your dome clearly appears to be much more dented and flawed than any others I've seen.

Garemlin, I went back and looked at your pics. I think you're being really fickle here. Every single R2 has those marks, seams, and indents. Mine too. You won't be getting a better one as they were all produced this way. I'm not sure how you'd pick out those minor negatives after all the positives of this guy.

Take out the electronics and lights, then take all your remaining frustration of SSC's qc and smash it beyond all recognition. That's how i would approach it

Some say it isn't bad. Some say it is horrible. I don't know what to think. My biggest issues are these:
The chunks of silver pain in several of the seams
This looks like a blob of paint. And it is not even the same shade of blue
Is that being fickle??? I think it looks pretty jacked up myself.

RED: This is a manufacturing defect. Not normal. Significant.
YELLOW: This is a manufacturing defect. Minor.
GREEN: This looks like part of the design/weathering paint application.
Get them to do a dome swap or return the whole figure for a full refund. Other members have had domes with fewer and less severe issues replaced. I can't imagine the entire figure costs them more than $20-30 to manufacture (I'm being very generous here, not including development and tooling), so replacing it shouldn't be the issue they're making it out to be.

Thanks for pointing all of these out. And as much as I thought. I would be happy with a dome swap. But they are standing by their opinion that mine looks exactly like theirs. My only option is to pay shipping to return it for a refund. They will not even do a full exchange. Total BS if you ask me.
And on the top pic the bottom red circled I assumed that was part of the weathering/damage look.

Looks the same as Momaw's to me, and SS offered a replacement on that dome. Resend the pics with Pixel's kindly applied marks and perhaps they'll be more persuaded by your claim. I don't think you're being 'fickle'.

Send them the images I circled.
How did you pay for this? Credit Card? PayPal? Call the payment processor and complain the vendor is giving you a hard time with a warranty concern if they won't budge after seeing the circled images.
Regarding both the left and right circled areas, I have the exact same marks on my R2. So I expect any one you get might have those too. You're then left with the middle marks, is it worth a new some just for that slightly sloppy paint app? I think the worst imperfection by far is that dark blue blob in the third picture.
Also the Silver and blue rings are not part of the dome so you would possibly need a whole new R2.

The dents from the other (previous) images are also very noticeable defects that I haven't seen in everyone else's photos.
Those gouges are also serious defects and evidence of haphazard quality control of the injection moulding process. They should not be present on any finished product at any price point, let alone a high end collectible.
Fragility and plastic thinness due to scale are one thing, but injection moulding issues are something else entirely. Many of the parts seen in the photos posted so far should have been scrapped after inspection, prior to paint application, if they could not be repaired in production.
I don't let crap like that slide on IR receivers I have manufactured and sell for $20 retail.
